Wirtz is the definition of a Bundesliga footballer, everyone with eyes saw this coming. The spaces he got there to run into were so insane, s*** was never gonna work in the Prem.
Bundesliga also the worst of the 5 big leagues at this point

Nah I would put it still second with a huge gap to the PL. Serie A is a retirement home and La Liga is basically 2 (sometimes 3) clubs playing at a top level
If you'd asked me which player I think might not perform well in PL before the start of the season, I would’ve said Gyokeres and Wirtz. I think he will adjust to the PL with some time but I have doubts about him reaching his Leverkusen peak performance
I've got a feeling it might unravel quite quickly for the dippers this season
They can't play this poorly and scrape results all the time, it's every single game at this point

lol what, if la liga is a just 3 teams what the hell is the Bundesliga supposed to be
No other league exports so many flops

Yeah agree, they've been awful this season and won the league with a lot of luck last season even though they won't admit it. We'll see how the season goes and if City and Arsenal can maintain consistency, honestly think it might be Arsenals season unfortunately. They look a lot more consistent even though their football is even worse to look at.

yea bundesliga makes up for its lack of crazy money with top notch infrastructure for developing young talent and they pump out tactically progressive young coaches like it's nothing, giving them tons of freedom... alonso intentionally picked the bundesliga as his first stop because he said years ago it's the perfect place for young managers
now we've already got two more promising young managers with julian schuster and ole werner in the pipeline, I expect big things from them in the coming years
lol what, if la liga is a just 3 teams what the hell is the Bundesliga supposed to be

I was talking more about the league itself than the success of the player outside the league. I think its a pretty diverse league which works well for what it is even if Bayern wins it most of the time. Personally I have more nostalgia for Serie A

Yeah, and they're getting the odd result like Newcastle at the weekend - if you can get a few of those while you're beating the Leeds & co comfortably it could go far
Just need to see how they stack up in the bigger games, lost to liverpool and drew to City so far - they need to start winning those as well

Agree, I feel like they’re too timid in big games. They got enough quality to dominate those as well, but feel like Arteta is too much of a p**** to play to his own strengths when a lot is on the line. Even against us he played like they’re the underdogs, feel like this mentality (symbolized by them celebrating draws like they won the CL) is what costs them these games at the end of the day.

They should move on from him really
Feels a bit like Ole, got them as far as he could but never far enough
nah ligue 1 sucks
Ligue 1 is cheeks but their talented young players tend to adapt better here because the intensity of their league tends to be the closest to the PL in that regard.

Yeah but idk if it’s worth taking the chance, we didn’t get any better from sacking Ole either.

Yeah unfortunately very true - not always a risk worth taking

Me picking Arsenal to win the league for like 4 years is finally coming due unfortunately.

I think what people fail to realise in the "we're not entirely the same 11" argument is that there's still far too many of those players at the club, regularly featuring because they have to
You see it time and time again, new guy comes in fresh of the stink and after a while because that core group is still intact when the bad times come they begin to rot as well
United move forward when everyone in that pre ETH/Amorim group are gone

Because they have to? nothing is forcing your manager to start Maguire, Shaw, or Dalot as frequently as he does. He chose to make Fernandes his captain and specifically play him out of position to keep him. He told Fernandes to stay at the club and reject a Saudi boon.
The tweet you have posted is largely correct.

Yeah, it's absolutely on him for continuing to pander to them - including making them be in that weird leadership group that got rumoured
I think "have to" is an exaggeration on my part it's more a case we haven't properly recruited them out of the door
Imagine City keeping Shaw for that long lol, or Dalot - they'd have been f***ed off years ago
They miss Diaz way more than I think they thought they would too.
Guy is such a f***ing baller, surprised he left and they didn't do more to keep him

Bundesliga the same thing
Bayern, Dortmund, RB Leipzig

They got like 80m for him, it’s understandable they accepted that tbh, weird thing is to spend that money on a 150 mil striker instead of a good replacement at LW when you just signed a 95 mil striker
