We’re in free fall on these transfer targets, honestly.

This is the problem when the club hasn’t got the right network of people in charge to oversee transfers. We’re going totally off of ten Hag’s list (FDJ and nobody else in midfield) and as he doesn’t have any other alternatives (which makes some sense, he’s a manager, not a scout) he doesn’t know who else to look for. That’s where the club are supposed to come into play and find alternative targets with similar profiles.

Instead, we’re just being linked to any average midfielder that’s available

A good comparison is Man City/Pep this summer. Cucurella was his first choice transfer - he even put in a transfer request, but City wouldn’t match Brighton’s transfer fee. They didn’t get him, and quickly moved on to Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht — a LB who has experience playing as a no.10/winger. Very similar profile to Cucurella and a perfect replacement for Zinchenko.

You know what i would do? just copy man city’s transfer targets
