tbh even the trailer doesn’t properly prepare you for how batshit insane that movie is lmao
That s*** made Good Time look like a walk in the park
Yeah they gotta keep some surprises. But the trailer shows Howie as a jeweler, getting thrown in the car, getting swung out the window lol. The trailer is not misleading at all lol not like Drive
When you say you didn’t care about the dog what do you mean?
It just all was a bit much for me, but that's how their movies are. I wasn't shocked or anything. Marty needed that reward.
I did like the set up of having the grocer walk out a different dog and how that went down
There’s no line as iconic as chicken jockey in this
I like the line whatever he said about this is an actual robbery, I have an actual gun pointed at you right now

Gotcha. I don’t think we’re meant to care on wether the dog actually gets back to his owner, just more so will Marty successfully get money from this scam or is he gonna get himself killed?

These are FACTS
people are going to the movies to see real movies again

Josh and Timmy saved cinema
It's over, we won

That might be my one negative with the movie, that scene felt a bit contrived to me
not watched a trailer even though

The grocery store guy coming out?
The grocery store guy coming out?
Yeah, but mostly what the gangster does to him
Yeah, but mostly what the gangster does to him
what I’m confused why do you think it felt contrived for him to stab him? He thought the grocery store guy and Rachel was trying to scam him with a fake dog. Which Rachel was
Yeah, but mostly what the gangster does to him
He said he was gonna take a hammer to Rachel’s stomach, a stabbing is light
Okay I saw this last night and after letting it marinate it’s a 6 at best, factor recency bias in and it’s closer to 4.5. I mean come on, it’s trite and self-important. It’s contrived in its attempt to shock, but it’s all a bluff. This doesn’t approach the thrill ride with a soft side of Uncut Gems or Good Time.
Agree with the third paragraph especially, but maybe if I knew there wouldn't be as much emphasis on that aspect of the movie then I wouldn't care as much. Couldn't help comparing it to how something like Challengers was shot tho
i havent seen challengers yet, but yeah that was probably my main issue with the movie

Just felt a bit extreme in broad daylight

Missing out. Challengers is a top 10 movie of the past 5 years, easy
Just felt a bit extreme in broad daylight
Welcome to NY bebe, extreme is what we do
