This thread and the Fire and Ash thread both have the same number of pages and that movie is the third in the franchise
No cultural relevance whatsoever
@NobodyWins i think people like them plenty just probably not people yall interact with?
what was the significance of the naked girls in the stack of money lol I didn’t get that

Avatar bungled the franchise, crazy style. You never take a 15 year hiatus when you are hot

I think it was just the "few fake bills on top, the rest is just bullshit that is the same size as money" trick.
Unless I missed something

I thought he just used them to pad the stack. I think it was the envelope he let Rachel take a quick peak into when they were meeting in the park, so it would've made it seem like the full amount was in the envelope
Good movie. Had my adrenaline pumping

Yeah man it must have really hurt the franchise how did the sequel perform after 15 years?
We don’t see that but fair.
Release the Safdie cut
He will succeed at whatever he sets his mind to, but will always be a little regretful about the success he could have had.
I don’t get how any of the 3 don’t have a story.
Good time is two brothers get caught up for a bank robbery and Connie spending the night trying to get money to bail out his brother
Uncut gems is Howie owing money to his brother in law and now given a week, and he runs round the city tryna sell his gem and place bets to get money to pay back.
Marty is him running around trying to get money to go to his tournament.
Lmao all three movies are the exact same scenario, a man who’s an a****** and desperate for money and everything goes bad.
Theres a clear goal that the protagonist is working towards: get money and bail out bro / get money and pay him back / get money and go win tournament. And they never lose sight of that goal so nothing is random.
Yeah life moments get mixed in like Howie and his family stuff. Or Marty and his girl being pregnant, but that’s what makes the story and world rich, it doesn’t have to just be plot plot plot plot plot the whole time.
And even regarding the dog a situation happened where the guy paid him MONEY to take his dog to the vet, he decided not to cus him and Tyler wanted to go hustle to make more MONEY, the dog got lost and now Marty comes up with a scheme to get reward MONEY for finding the dog, that he lost lmao. The entire dog subplot still revolves around Marty’s desperation for money so it’s still very much connected to his goal.
my dawg said

the entire movie is basically supposed to be Marty's retelling of what happened in this part of his life to either his child or grandchild in the 80s, hence the 80s music
opn talks about producing the soundtrack and mentioned being inspired by the 80s on hlg pod
starts around 1:03:48 - 1:12:37

Yeah man it must have really hurt the franchise how did the sequel perform after 15 years?
Literally do not know or care. I don't go in the thread nor have i posted about it since the Obama administration
EDIT: To further the original point, I did want to say that Twilight and The Hunger Games both have more cultural relevance than Crapatar.
Welcome to NY bebe, extreme is what we do
