so yea, i’m convinced that this is misdirection, since in the OG Ms. Marvel run, Kamala was traveling with Logan Wolverine for a while & thought she was also a mutant until she told him her origin story & he let her know she wasn’t. it seems like they’re setting that up with the reveal in the finale.

def a homage to how she transformed into Carol when she first got her powers in the comics, but Carol looked confused when she saw where she was without looking in a mirror, so it’s definitely that they swapped places, not a transformation

In the comics the Nega-Bands caused the original Captain Marvel to switch places with Rick Jones. Carol may have found a bengal similar to Kamala's, causing them to switch places.
