I’m not sure if A5 is actually a “surprise”, because we already know it’s coming and have a date for it. People are expecting the official title to be revealed sometime soon because the movie is only two years away, promotion would have to start next summer

We know that it’s the first part of Secret Wars, we know that it’s coming on May 1st, 2026, we know the general lineup of characters that will be involved, we know that the Russo Brothers are in talks to direct it, and we know it will be related to the Multiverse shenanigans in some way.

Not the same at all. Anything Avengers 7-related is a literal unknown because we haven’t even seen the two movies that precede it.

We’ve seen Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the MCU, we know how they build up and towards their big team-up event movies.

We know the general lineup of characters that will be in Avengers 5 and we know that the story will directly lead into Secret Wars, otherwise they wouldn’t be releasing in back-to-back years (nor would they be in talks with the Russo Bros. to direct again).

I’m not saying the title reveal won’t be a huge announcement, but to act like it’s some major surprise is silly. Most people are expecting some news / update on Avengers 5 tonight.

IDK with the russos still not confirmed yet to be coming back, Majors being fired, Avengers 5 being no longer called Kang Dynasty, I think Marvel might completely start over their original plans for A5 and A6.

Which means they're not gonna make their May 2026 and May 2027 release dates. But its just speculation on my end

The release date? I doubt it, because a delay to A5’s date would mean a delay to Secret Wars’s date, and they’re not gonna wait that long for the next Avengers movie

The release dates being shifted would be an actual surprise, because that would mean at least 7+ years in between Endgame and A5. I truly cannot see Marvel waiting that long. I think they’re trying to get to the Mutants ASAP, and A5 & A6 have to come before that

I agree with you though, A5 should be a Time Runs Out storyline. It’s just that they’ve done virtually nothing to establish incursions or the idea of universes fighting each other for survival. It’s just been convoluted TVA timeline nonsense
