i have genuinely no idea why they would do this, this is so desperate i can’t believe it
zero villain aura tbh
The "new face takes time to develop" thing falls apart when you realize a lot of actors in the MCU weren't that big pre MCU fame.
The general public did not see Chris Hemsworth as a big name like that prior to the MCU he was one of those "if you know you know" type guys
Chris Evans filmography outside of Cap America ain't super big either
Nobody was checkin for Tom Holland flicks outside of Spider-Man
They could've easily just made a new star with DOOM if we being real lol
Look if the Russo's misspoke and it's actually this Doom I'll feel a little better
Because Marvel's official accounts are saying Doctor Doom and not Victor Von Doom
Lmao I’m so confused I didn’t even know there was a difference or multiple dooms?
That’s great but no one convincing me this wouldn’t have been a better surprise in theaters or a trailer than comic con on a Saturday night
I think I saw @mjpplus say it ITT
Woulda got leaked
Look how Tobey and Andrew returning as Spider-Man leaked
Seems like too big of a surprise to keep it a surprise
zero villain aura tbh
Need him to kill Spider-Man first movie to really prove a point
Oh yes this is all for clout
Not like I’ve been on here breaking down super hero movies for a decade
Need him to kill Spider-Man first movie to really prove a point
they'd just bring him back as green goblin
I always thought Doom would’ve been a villain they started building since the start of the saga. I’m interested in what they’ll do and how they’ll do it it especially with it being RDJ
i guess rdj just couldn’t get another role? did iron man not set him up?
Oppenheimer?
Bringing Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine is more nostalgic pandering than bringing an actor back to play a different character tbh
Both are nostalgic obviously, but the Wolverine bring back is not desperate and shameless.
Wolverine being in D&W makes more sense because both characters were already in the same universe, the only reason RDJ is playing Doom is because he was the most beloved character in the entire MCU and they know they’ve been on the decline post-Endgame
Jonathan Majors was on his way to have a generational run before he f***ed up his entire life.
I was about to crown him as the next goat black male actor before that news broke He had crazy potential

Insanely sad fall to witness in real time

They could but also those characters had years to be fleshed out & developed after their introduction
I don’t believe this Doom will have that luxury
Two to three movies tops
There is not a soul shocked rdj is coming back
Yeah the last 50 pages ITT…last hour on twitter…the crowd at comic con…Nobody was shocked mhmm you right
There is nothing negative about
1. Acknowledging this is a money move
2. Acknowledging there are many actors that could have done great as doom while still bringing back rdj as something else
3. This announcement would have been better as a surprise in movie or trailer
4. RDJ will be viewed as evil iron man more than dr doom
When you explain it this way, that’s totally fair
Just seemed like everyone hating this are just on the “MCU is trash after EndGame” bandwagon wave
