I wonder, if they end up doing Norman/The Goblin again, but a MCU version, would they go the Ultimate route?
I think they should if so. My pitch for MCU Norman would be a mix of Ultimate and Iron Patriot era Norman…
MCU Norman is reverse Tony Stark (mentor to Peter/big CEO tech guy/Iron Patriot armor leading his own Avengers/probably buys Stark Tower and establishes Oscorp in the MCU)
But he also has his version of the super soldier serum inside him. Imagine we get this crazy mf down the line
And in the MCU there’s this sense of “he wants to be Tony Stark and Steve Rogers rolled in one”. Dafoe’s Norman is “this is what’s scary about the Goblin” while the MCU version could be “this is what’s scary about Norman Osborn”
He would eventually become the Goblin ala the Ultimate route by physically transforming, but he transforms to looking 100% like the 616 version - a green scaly demonic monstrosity - while he wears the purple garb as a costume

Cheadle was already iron patriot.
Edit: not that it invalidates anything you said. I just don't think we're gonna have another suit until Riri

Gotcha but I don’t literally mean the suit I mean “the Iron Patriot era”

A dark avengers show would work on Disney+ and after xmen gets brought in. I could see them maybe using some fear itself content to gear up the next Thor movie at the time. Especially since after grorr you gotta up the scale
I’d argue we’ve never even seen Norman Osborn in live action before. We’ve only seen Green Goblin who is sometimes locked in the psyche of a calmer dude named “Norman Osborn”
It’s clear that the priority of Dafoe’s Norman was bringing classic Green Goblin - and Green Goblin alone - to life (even down to the casting of Dafoe itself). Dafoe is so iconic and captivating as Goblin that we’ve forgotten Norman Osborn is a separate entity all together (and one that isn’t supposed to be believable as being the Goblin)
i been saying this man some of the scenes and cgi looked god awful
like cw level bad
Multiple behind the scenes pics came out
https://twitter.com/spider_culture/status/1503385748288020491Also they cut the Goblin fighting on the bridge but that was only done in pre vis

this just irrationally pissed me off
Just rewatched and honestly it was still great, not as much as the initial theater watch but it still holds up pretty well.
One gripe I had with the movie is some of the CGI was very wonky, and I put that blame on Marvel, their quality control has been awful recently,I understand they've had problems with the pandemic but they need to do better.
That Andrew entrance scene is just bad lol
Aside from that I loved this, and imo the last 20ish minutes of the movie(after the fight, starting from Strange's spell, him saying goodbye to everyone, the coffee shop scene, and the ending swing) is the best Spider-Man content put to screen.
Can't wait to see what they are up to next, 4/5
Fully agree
Honestly this movie should have been something like Infinity War / End Game.
We 100% needed a part 1 movie and a part 2. There was just not enough time spent with every character. I wanted more time with Tom fighting the case. I wanted more time with Andrew. More time with tobey
It just felt rushed and maybe it’s the fan in me that just wants MORE but man I wish we got 2 films for this story
Nah it’s not just the fan in you, with everything that went down & all the other s*** they planned to do, this movie called for a pt. 1 & 2 but imagine it didn’t happen for contractual reasons like the number of films Tom signed up for/can do with Spidey still under Sony but idk

As much as I love how NWH turned out, I can’t help but feel the pandemic ruined or at least changed what this movie was gonna be. I def feel like this movie was compromised just to make sure it got released on time
Again, I loved NWH but I can’t help but feel like we lost out on a better movie

I’m in on iron patriot or since they already did that..some variation like dark patriot or what have you, but f*** the hulk goblin stuff ☠️

a better movie would have introduced new villains which I always respect that they did that & cut out the multiverse stuff honestly
They always get these directors that don't bring no flavor to a movie which might even be a Marvel fault at first
Russo Bros, Watts, peyton reed
You seen one movie, you seen them all

Fortnite graphics
I read somewhere punisher as an alternative in a kraven type plot & that was honestly brilliant to me, I don’t even like kraven ☠️

Would feel weird for Bernthal’s Punisher tbh

never watched the bernthal show would there be some conflict in him working for kingpin or even Osborne to find spidey

This is true in a way, & why I would have him be without powers here & just be a charismatic s***bag pulling strings & younger

He had beef with Kingpin in prison that’s def not happening

Doubt he would work with Osborn either.

2 questions
1. Is this show cannon
2. Is this show good

2 questions
1. Is this show cannon
2. Is this show good
1. Yes? Nobody official has said anything saying it’s not and nothing in the shows contradicts what’s happened in any of the films/Disney+ shows
2. This clip is from Daredevil which is fantastic. All 3 seasons. Punisher is pretty good too albeit a little slow at times. If you were to watch The Defenders shows I would do it in this order (also what I think of each season):
Daredevil S1 (Amazing)
Jessica Jones S1 (Great)
Daredevil S2 (Good, introduces Punisher)
Luke Cage S1 (First half great, second half decent)
Iron Fist S1 (Bad)
The Defenders (Decent)
The Punisher S1 (Good)
Jessica Jones S2 (Meh)
Luke Cage S2 (Decent)
Iron Fist S2 (Okay, vast improvement over S1)
Daredevil S3 (Incredible)
The Punisher S2 (Good)
Jessica Jones S3 (Good)
All these shows are on Disney+ now under The Defenders Saga so if you want to check them out they’re there
