This movie will save marvel part 5
I think what people need to realize is that there will never come a time where Marvel is “back”, relative to what people would consider “back” to be for Marvel.
Of the 58 films to ever cross $1B at the worldwide box office, there are 25 different franchises that comprise that total. The MCU has 11 of the 58, almost 20% of the total, and more than double the franchise with the next highest figure (Star Wars with 5).
Star Wars has five billion dollar films across a 20 year span, from Phantom Menace in 1999 to Rise of Skywalker in 2019.
The MCU released 5 billion dollar films from February 2018 to July 2019.
Five billion dollar films in a 17-month span is completely abnormal.
(Not to mention the fact that films as a cultural event may have peaked in the late 2010s as well. From 2020 to now, a total of 10 billion dollar films have been released. In 2018 and 2019 combined, there were 14.)
How Marvel Studios captured the cultural zeitgeist in the late 2010s is an anomaly, and I doubt we see another film studio achieve the same success anytime soon.
What’s gonna do big numbers for them moving forward are their major characters and their crossover event films, which is a much more realistic outcome, and I think people just need to accept the fact that what they did in the 2010s most likely won’t ever be replicated ever again.

honestly outside of the suit + punisher + the fact it has a new director, i dont really like the sound of any of the actual plot or characters in the movie tbh
but hopefully once we get a clearer picture of the story than random unconfirmed characters and plot slop scoops, it may all work for the movie.

The leaks are all so disparate and weird that I’m just waiting for the trailer
We’re getting a street level version. It won’t be exactly what I wanted but it’ll be fine. Hopefully the scorpion or whatever d-lister they scrape from the bottom of the barrel works for them
I forgot how pissed off I was that in FFH, they didn’t explicitly call Hydroman…Hydroman and Sandman…Sandman, just “elementals”
You have arguably the best rogue’s gallery in comic book history, why not flesh out Spider-Man’s story with putting the right names to those “‘monsters”

This might’ve been cause at the time Sony pictures was trying to do their sinister six BS. Wouldn’t be shocked if they had some weird stipulation around names
Sneider said he heard Carrie Coon is playing a villain? I dont know if I see it after what she said about not coming back for Endgame

Tbf the Endgame situation was a minor character in mocap
Seemingly, this would be a full on role

Yeah, someone apparently reached out to him after he said it and said she's "working on a secret project" so it could be true
Not sure how true this is

I wonder if they’ll even do Norman. Bringing back Willem as Norman in NWH just made it impossible for any new actor to take the role cause no one will top that

Possibly, but the story possibilities are interesting depending on the route they take
