I don't think more screens would ease this issue. It just means more screens for folks to watch Odyssey and Dune 3 on lol
IMAX isn't a hollywood studio. There's always going to be exclusive rights contracted out
I don't think so, they would make even more money if there were two high-profile films available to watch in IMAX at the same time. There's zero reason for exclusivity other than the simple lack of screens
Even if there are more screens lets say double the screens and all real iMax in every theater . Companies will still do exclusivity deals because it’s the most expensive format to recoup their budget . No one cares about 3d and they aren’t getting worldwide 70mm cuts .
Exclusivity deals will always exist
Disagree
IMAX gets the best word of mouth by the movies made for imax. Shot with great sound and visuals on their screen . Not from letting any and everything on their screens . They should upgrade more liemax to real imax in all states so that people want to spend more but they are selling out either way so they don’t care
I just don't buy that, if IMAX was really that important for Spider-Man, they wouldn't have knowingly put it one week after The Odyssey the very same month that release date was announced.
We went through this with Odyssey and Mission Impossible in 2023 already. Nolan is IMAX's leading guy, their collaborator since 2005 and he signs his deals right well before they even publicly announce dates
We're talking about a film that began selling IMAX tickets 1 YEAR out. Is this that hard to believe?

Right and unless IMAX builds their own multiplex there's only ever going to be one MAYBE two IMAX screens per theater

Odyessy sold out the week of release a year in advanced
Spider man fans just got a trailer today

He understands he just being difficult
There are already people with Odyssey tickets in their hands man
S***s sold out everywhere
And not all movies shot for IMAX are good
I mean s*** I saw The Bride 2 weeks ago in IMAX and that was shot with IMAX cameras
There are already people with Odyssey tickets in their hands man
It’s so lame dropping them already lol
And not all movies shot for IMAX are good
I mean s*** I saw The Bride 2 weeks ago in IMAX and that was shot with IMAX cameras
But they still going to give it a good deal to be shown in imax because even if it’s s*** they get paid off of it
IMAX isn’t getting paid if you don’t see a movie in imax . So LOGICALLY they will prioritize the movies where everyone says “ YOU HAVE TO SEE IT IN IMAX” over kids movies . Cause many can’t afford to take their kids to imax and whole family and imax loud as s***

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here
My point is that BND has its release date announced literal days after The Odyssey's, knowing Nolan's history
If BND in IMAX was important for Sony/Disney, they wouldn't have locked in that date that was so close to The Odyssey
Because at the end of the last one in order for him to stop the multiverse from collapsing in on itself Peter had Doctor Strange erase everyone's memory of Peter Parker. This is because in the beginning of No Way Home he went to Doctor Strange to have everyone forget he was Spider-Man after his identity was revealed in the 2nd movie. Peter f***ed that up, letting in villains from the Tobey and Andrew movies into the MCU and yadda yadda
At the end of the day a whole lotta multiverse stuff that if you don't like multiverse capeshit stuff you probably wouldn't get into anyway
Sounds like ass, thanks

You don’t listen or read so I’m done trying genuinely

You're talking about The Odyssey being sold out one year in advance, nobody even questioned that ITT
You think if they made more imax screens exclusivity would end when they are literally making more imax screens specifically for the Odyessy . Including imax 70mm

IMAX literally does let any and everything on their screens as long as there's money behind it

So why would they not do an exclusivity deal even if they had more screens . To risk spider man who again didn’t drop a trailer until today not selling out ? To not have money in their hands . The exclusivity deals will always exist
