The movie was supposed to be a fresh start for MCU Spidey and based on the reviews, that's not what this is so i'm probably gonna view this as a failure

There is no way you thought this would be an entirely fresh start for Spider man when we have known Zendaya and Jacob in this one. We have known that this one would do some set up for Doomsday. Had the same writers as all the home movies. With those constraints it can only be so free of the problems of the past

Im still hoping it will be dope
But yeah i would have preferred an actual new start and have it be more grounded and not another giant size annual type movie with a bunch of gueststars when we just had a movie like that but s*** gonna sell tickets so i guess thats what we stuck with now

My hot take again is that it could have sold gang busters with or without all the cameos. In many ways he is doing those characters a favor. Spider man always moves units because parents want to see it , bring their kids and know overall they are getting a solid movie

Also I believe Ned and MJ have to be written better than other movies as well as other support characters there is no way they are worse or same level

I really don’t see the point. I’m a Spidey fan but I hated Amazing Spider-Man I didn’t even watch the sequel until Covid because Garfield was coming back

I usually like most the event pole mcu movies at least one time watch

I saw Amazing Spider Man 2 at home cause it leaked fast but nah I been a spider man fan for 29 years the idea that I won't see them because of MCU is again insane.

This isnt a random character. I will skip most MCU films especially ones I have no interest in the character this is Spider man. Same as X Men I will see X men movies regardless. I grew up on them. Why would I just wait til X Men or Spider Man were possibly free of MCU which could be never. I just accept what they are

Oh yeah I be disappointed at times but with a list, a 5$ ticket and a nerddom there are always franchises that I will at least peak at. I watched all of Heroes eventually. Gears of War E Day I am peeking at . Splinter Cell. Its less loyalty and its more realizing some pieces of art or artist are central to who I am so its not a huge commitment to go see.

I mean i majored in art and have followed certain pieces of art my entire life. First few seasons solid. I watch or consume some art to see what went right or wrong a***yze from a writing stand point and creation. I dont expect everything to be perfect. Nor is it the end of the world to me because I can always find a piece of art that I enjoy or that I need to see , play or hear at the time. I respect artist change. I respect brands change. heroes. Artist and games. Once people cope with that they would be a lot less doom and gloom when art releases. Its very rare or truly never I am like "this piece of art shouldn't exist at all".

Also not loyal to everything because I will likely never finish Twin Peaks . Respect that others like it but I also know when something just isnt clicking with me at all anymore or I am just going through the motions.
