If they made a lower budget Spider-Man film the likely cuts would be from salaries in exchange for higher backend percentages thus reducing any margin increase in profits

I just want a Spider-Man movie where he fights some villains solo, no MCU character tie-ins and has his usual struggles as Peter Parker, is that so much to ask?

Just using this as an example but a Spider-Man movie with say Daredevil and Kingpin set at 125 mil could make a billi. But there is no way it’s crossing 2 billi.

Daredevils cinematic history consists of one poorly received movie in 2003 and 3 seasons of a TV show which sure are popular, but not as popular as the older Spider-Man films.

Plus, a Spider-Man film at minimum in 2024 dollars is going to cost $150 mil to make

Yeah that’s thanks to Sony’s mandate to have an MCU character in each film

Use that and get the black suit on him and have Eddie Brock in the movie as an a****** to Peter at the Daily Bugle etc etc.

Use the black suit spiderman to have Peter go more bad, vicious etc in this movie against a different villain and end the movie off with a post credit scene with Eddie Brock turning into Venom
