YANDHIMutants are born with the X-Gene that fundamentally separates them from humans and spurs fear over human evolution or human enslavement. Power sets are far more extreme than scientifically mutated beings like SM and F4, who often decide to build costumes, act for good and work for governments.
No one wants to give birth to a powered freak that accidentally kills people, crawls into your mind or shoots uncontrollable laser beams out their eyes and makes life inconvenient. The most powerful Marvel beings with comparable powers are gods or outright villains.
Just imagine if this actually happened. There’d global interest in hunting them down, experimenting on them and halting threats. And if it was your family member? Forget about it

Did they really? She's manipulative and vengeful with low sense of boundaries when she's young with a healthy family in the comics so make her an orphan with a kidnapped sister in the films and it fits that she'd be crazier
Edit- She still the GOAT though and anyone who wronged her film or comics deserved it

They did what you need to introduce mutants and make you actually believe the world hates them and/or has reason to. If some audiences left even questioning mutants then that means they were effective.
The whole point is that they’re hated and from human-perspective do extreme and dangerous things. Then we see what the other side looks like with an X-Men/Mutants film

Imo a lot of X-Men intros do this thing where they superficially show the world dislikes them to get the point across quickly before rendering them to borderline human heroes
This is actually making some audiences side against them from the jump which is a risk, but fairly authentic and could produce massive payoff. I’m tired of just being told they’re disliked. Show it

Honestly even without the Jean stuff I think humans have enough reasons to hate Mutants but I've always maintained that Humans hating mutants makes sense in the comics as well.
It's a huge difference between people getting into accidents or experimented on and having powers but the existence of the mutants is evolution outright saying people in the current form are obsolete that would cause chaos in any society.
