They’re definitely not making a Spider-Man 3 and doing Goblin without Peter. What will end up happening most likely is the first portion of the third game will see Miles as the only playable character and then either a quarter of a way through or halfway through Peter joins back in

They’ll add it in surely. At least you can do the mysterio ones and those are arguably the most fun besides the symbiote nests and hunter blinds

What I don’t understand at all is why we can’t do Mysteriums with Peter. Like they’re literally just challenge arenas, I don’t get why they’re limited to Miles only

one small quality of life (?) blind spot in this game is how the daily bugle news bits/phonecalls/podcasts cut off if you do a crime

way too many times i wanna do a crime but end up swinging around it because i know the podcast or JJJ clip will end and i won't be able to hear it again. and then the crime ends & i miss it

same thing has happened a few times with phonecalls too although the few times peter/miles says 'i'll call you back' and then jumps back into it afterwards was appreciated a lot

It’s the same way in the first game for some reason. It’s an odd choice for the Jameson/Danika podcasts considering the fact that you can’t manually replay them and they don’t restart like the phone calls

I trust insomniac so my initial thought was that they are likely setting up a future arc/relationship with Miles/Mysterio to build on the incredible talk they had at the end of the missions.

The theme of villains being rehabilitated & helping heroes, plus the Venom playable sequence, plus them choosing to keep Harry alive, PLUS the Carnage set-up all confirms to me that we will be getting either a Venom spin-off game, Venom DLC, or Venom will be a third playable character in Spider-Man 3

Can someone give me an actual valid criticism of Miles’ character (that isn’t his hair or the s***ty beats)?

I loved him in this game/his game and am very excited it’ll be about him moving forward

I gotta admit this game feels rushed I even said it when I finished it

Reminded me of Ragnarok, both felt polished and rushed at the same time

A criticism I’ve seen that I agree with is that for like the first 60% of the game, Miles doesn’t really have anything to do that’s integral to the central story.

But the opposite side of that argument is that Miles takes more of the “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” role in this game while Peter’s story has more to do with the science/superhero s***

I mean this game serves as a passing of the torch between them + it’s Peter’s story so it makes sense that Miles kinda takes the backseat in the beginning and gradually becomes a bigger part.

People would’ve been mad if he was given more screen-time and would’ve said it took away from Peter’s story.

Sure but I guess people just wanted Miles to feel more important in the main conflict since it’s been touted as a co-lead character game, and instead he just feels like another side character who we can play as for most of the runtime

All the immersion was ruined to me when both spidermen had suits in the endgame where you can't change them

And what's worse is, they look 0/10

I liked Peter’s final suit but Miles’s final suit is hideous, can’t believe that was approved

I don't really mind Peter suit neither but that Miles s*** was straight out of some Nickelodeon show

They must be sabotaging the character ain't no way

Meh. I don’t really see how he could’ve been more important honestly. He saved Peter from the Symbiote and saved Harry’s life.

I also like how he had his own side thing going on with Li. That was the most compelling conflict in this game by far.

Yeah I love the diversity and everything they do with that but with Miles specifically they be forcing it a little too hard sometimes. Like just let the character be the character, his race shouldn’t be at the forefront all the time

It definitely won’t be his official suit in the next game. I am extremely confident of that. His upgraded suit in this is genuinely 10/10.

You’re right about the Li thing, that conflict and resolution was great.

But yeah I don’t see either how he could’ve been more important but that’s part of the problem people are having. This game is being marketed by Insomniac as a game where the two Spider-Men are co-leads, but in reality it’s a Peter story with Miles as a playable supporting character.

Feel like it would’ve been a little better received if it was promoted as the second Peter story and then it’s revealed to us during the game that Miles is playable as well, similar to Ragnarok

A lot of the stuff feels forced and just being inclusive for no reason

At this point it's probably insulting to people that do have disabilities

There’s some really great Miles stuff in the last like 30-40% of the game, but for most of the time there’s really absolutely nothing for him to do

Nah this was a good mission. I won’t stand for the slander.

I think why it was so heavy handed in this game is because a very vocal minority of the Spidey fanbase is still super adamant about refusing to refer to Miles as Spider-Man, so it seems like Insomniac went overboard with the inclusivity stuff specifically to phase out and piss off those types of fans
