Miles is Spider-Man. ITSV movies kinda preach the same thing. There’s thousands of spider-men + the “anyone can wear the mask” message

People hated MJ missions so they doubled down and made them some of the best missions in this game. People hated the pride flags in the first game so they added even more and included a ton of gay characters.

The ONLY things I don’t like about this game are that the third act was rushed and I think adding a THIRD spider person is a bit much. They should just focus on Miles.

Yeah I like that they did that to piss of those type of ignorant fans. But I don’t like that they doubled down on the MJ missions because that was actually a valid criticism that pretty much everyone had with the first game, and doubling down on it directly hurt the quality of the sequel.

The issue isn’t MJ the character, the issue is that her missions are boring, stop all momentum, and people are playing a Spider-Man game to play as Spider-Man, or at the very least a superhero. Also it creates some cognitive dissonance because the two Spider-Men are using all of these combos and moves to take down enemies, meanwhile MJ is running around just one-shotting all of these trained professional assassins.

I think we have four playable Spider characters moving forward:

Peter, Miles, Venom, and Silk

I don’t think we’ll play as all of those in one game, so we’ll most likely either get another Miles spin-off with the latter two characters playable (or at the least just Silk), or we’ll get a spin-off Venom game, but I do think that character will be playable in Spider-Man 3 regardless

Also, idk if y’all saw this, but Brian Inthihar (creative director at Insomniac) said that the studio views Spider-Man PS4/Miles Morales as Iron Man, Spider-Man 2 as Civil War, and the next game moving forward as Endgame.

So it’s possible that the third (and potentially final) entry will have more characters than we can even imagine right now

He actually never cited Endgame specifically. Full quote:

"If Spider-Man 1 was like our Iron Man, and Spider-Man 2 was like a Civil War... where logically do we go from there? It could be pretty epic."

Hinting at Endgame would mean Peter is set to die which would be a HORRIBLE direction to go, so I hope they don’t do that.

So this trilogy would end up being Miles’s origin story similarly to how the MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy was Peter’s origin story

I think they can’t do the dual Spider-Man thing forever and it doesn’t seem like the third game will be their last Spidey game, so it makes sense that Pete will either have to die or completely retire at some point in this universe
