They don't need a marketing campaign yet. They could just do a launch trailer and still sell millions anyway. But if they drop an in depth gameplay video in August, show hella changes they made and blow you away - will you still say "Their communication is weak, they should've showed this in May" ? We don't know what their marketing campaign is because it hasn't really started yet

I don't think they need to have shown us gameplay by now and imo, I think it's smart that they haven't

I’m saying don’t even announce a game that early if you aren’t going to drop gameplay , say what has changed , do previews until now . We might as well not know the game exist at all . That is why communication is bad in my opinion . Announcing a game 2 years before launching and potentially not saying much of anything until 3 months before launch isn’t good marketing

Aren't you a Bethesda stan who's highly anticipating Starfield? Most games do exactly that, Insomniac still has plenty of time to show us more

I'm not a fan of the "Announcement teaser" half a decade in advance that plagues the entire industry. They all need to stop that s***, Fallout 4 was the perfect way to do things imo

Stan is a stretch I’m excited for Starfield though . We’ve seen gameplay and known what we will be doing in Starfield for a while it’s more been plagued with delays. Starfield isn’t an example of great marketing either but their communication has improved

Lifeless open world, very basic side quests, MJ and Miles sections, too short but somehow still manages to feel repetitive Game is a 7/10 but has 87 on Metacritic from both critics and users, I think it's fair to say it's overrated
