But even then death stranding Kojima knows his audience and they know they are there for the walking and journey sequel improved combat. death stranding 1 to 2 was a better understanding of feedback than spider man 1 to 2. You have to really allow the players to sink into characters especially when it takes you a half a decade to drop the game and it could be another half decade before they get to return to the character. You can do a trippy level where magneto keeps shifting you around and playing with gravity . You can have Xavier talking to you in your head. You can have parts shown where jean is helping you with platforming or throwing you at enemies. You can get slightly creative with it a bit more than what looks like a basic gore power fantasy with some cinematic fluff on top of it so people just dont feel like its a power fantasy. its funny how sony themselves can drop a game about the cycles of killing and revenge . The tediousness of it being a key point of the gameplay and the darkness of it.

Saying people cant talk about games on a game forum is insane. Again a xbox game come out people be hyper critical of it both here and the internet even with multiple game modes or a lot more going on. Starfield got a lot of hate while doing a lot. For not being perfect. Not every formula will work for everyone but wanting 300 million dollar games that choose to invest that much to have gameplay mechanics that look more enticing than 17 year old games isnt a crazy ask. Because if the budget made less cutscenes , less walk through moments and more gameplay mechanics , rpg mechanics or choice that is what many of us would choose. At a certain point it becomes again WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING. Where is the time going. To develop for 5-7 years and its more the same isnt a "well what did you want". After half a decade plus of development ? something that feels like an advancement in level design and gameplay rather than more of the same ? is very fair

s*** final fantasy xvi even with faults had some great boss fights and sections . inventive combat and when I watched gameplay even if the side quest were mixed I kind of knew I was in at a point. Also it wasnt afraid to drop a demo because it knew it was confident in what it was
