the combos you can do in a final fantasy xvi, spider man 1, 2, phantom blade zero just are so much more interesting to see so far than this. The combat system in this and control resonant just arent fully winning me over yet

still remember the very first trailer for this. And it was after mgs4 came out too so everyone was expecting a crazy epic story to play as raiden as well as the crazy action/mechanics and physics present in that trailer. Game turned out good I suppose (never played it) but apparently didn't live up to the initial trailer/hopes for the game

Oh yeah I can admit a game itself doesnt fully land but that games from the past 15 years have had parts of them that modern games can learn from. That isnt a crazy take. In this we see a slow down time mode where logan gets gory but slowing down time to slice specific ways we arent seeing. We dont know the skill tree yet. We arent really seeing crazy combos or anything that takes skill we have mainly see button mashing.

I have this entire thread said game developers even on lower budgets have taken risk of introducing cool new mechanics that hook players in where they like "ayo I have never seen s*** like this"

S*** sleeping dogs has better combat at moments than Grand theft auto V. Its okay to learn from other game companies and not just yourself to update the formula to make the best possible game

Final Fantasy XVI, Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden plenty of games are beat em up or hack and lash with combat that looks more layered than this so yes you will get feedback.

that xmen origins wolverine game was so much fun, even as a kid i remember the movie being an absolute dumpster fire but it was worth it so we could get that cool game. sad that eventually raven got relegated to being a cod support studio, they have a nice catalogue of good to great games. Yes I mentioned that one too . Sony not bringing Wolverine to pc or yotei to pc then going digital only isn’t going to drive up the console sales they want . GTA vi will but their first party games where they should try to make their money back on steam even if a year later is just goofy . Spider man 1,2 , miles , last of us 1, 2 and ghost sold well on pc . As do many of their titles . Limiting themselves to console only is going to miss out on money that could recoup bloated budgets and long dev times . Part of why it’s getting hated more is that too

Again games with crazy ass combat but since no superhero skin no look . Insomniac isn’t the best at combat they cool though but other games have better combat often . If combat is the central part of the game no traversal or open world to fall back on and can’t air combo like spider man or possibly at all what am I to say

It shouldn’t be a month away from release and we’ve seen more walking and cutscenes . Arm wrestling sabertooth than a break down of the combat mechanics that’s a RED FLAG
