Q3DBro you could just drive in a straight line to your goal, I never got the mako criticism like I never had any issue driving that thing lol, maybe it's because I play on pc but apart from a few times I ended up upside down I never had any issue with it
Disagree with you here buddy, I’m currently playing all the side missions back to back and what a f***ing mess is it to have to use it to go over these big ass mountains and s*** and if you wanna do every anomaly you’re stuck on the planet for like 30 minutes tryna get everything

I 100%d every planet in me1 and it took about 25 hours for my whole playthrough, it’d probably be faster if I played on normal difficulty
Overall shorter than the other games lol
Best advice for the mountains is go around don’t try to drive up incredibly steep slopes
