It makes sense reading and math are become less and less important anyway
no
Pretty obvious this would happen
Adult intelligence has definitely taken a nosedive too. The phones have fully taken over in that sense
COVID really f***ed them up. They stopped taking school seriously as soon as it went online and don’t see the use for it snymore
Covid accelerated things but the kids were already done, phones and iPads were making them stupider already
They will blame Covid but gen z was f***ed in the head long before then
Yup it’s Apple’s fault
Kids be growing up watching YouTube
Covid is a scapegoat to distract from the fact that this technology isn’t good the way it’s being applied and we shouldn’t use it as much

Everything can be explained by the internet and even more specifically smart phones
Yes, smartphone addiction is so real and is actively making everyone stupider and worse
I think with all the resources available, the smarter, more motivated kids will get smarter and the dumber, less motivated kids will get dumber causing a bimodal intelligence divide

True but I can’t put it entirely on them either without acknowledging that they’ve been brainwashed by the phone/social media increase since about 2015

the parents can actually start giving a f*** and stop throwing an ipad in front of them. its called responsibility.
imagine blaming the pandemic over this
most parents will only rely on the public education system and will never try to boost their kids mental abilities

parents treat teachers like a f***ing baby sitter first and a teacher second.
teachers spend more time trying to discipline children than teaching now a days.
when I was a kid my dad would make me do 5 pages of basic maths on a daily basis (just basic exercises like 54+235 or 643-429)

Yeah but they don’t know better tbh they think the s*** is normal
There needs to be more awareness that phones are bad and should be used way less by all of us

Even people who do know this s*** are still addicted and sucked in
what do you think parents did before the tablets? households where both parents are working full time have been around since the 70s. this ain't an excuse.
buy the kids some f***ing legos for christ sake.

Why would they think that's normal, they didn't grow up like that themselves. Anybody that's not an idiot should know that's not healthy and most of the parents that I see doing it are just lazy and don't want to be bothered.

It’s become such a major integrated part of society that they’re conditioned to think it’s normal and the same as their parents putting them in front of the tv

This why we just keep the TV off, or if it is on it’s on news or music. That kid knows how to entertain themselves. The iPad/iPhone does come in handy tho when you need to do something important and your kid just won’t chill.
Think there is a balance that can be found and I don’t hold parents who are busy as bad parents. Some of the nicest kids I’ve ever met have their own phones and their parents are awesome
