I think the only remotely disguised element is its liberal individualism in regards to agency and the stasis of corporate compromise in Io. The film totally shrugs off its revolutionary edge entirely. It even attempts to relieve the liberal guilt of it being a corporate rehash itself by doing the work of self-critique. That speaks to why the aesthetic is so lame now. The future it wanted came to pass.

It literally critiques neo liberalism to the end with neo saying WE ARE GOING TO CHANGE NOTHING

ohh okay nah dude you didn't get that at all nph's entire conclusion is literally a critique of capitalist-co-opted queerness present in many liberal institutions.

No, this is a meta-commentary on how it approaches it themes (self-critique as redemption) and aesthetic (status quo dulling its edge)

Neoliberalism is contemporarily used to refer to market-oriented reform policies such as "eliminating price controls, deregulating capital markets, lowering trade barriers" and reducing, especially through privatization and austerity, state influence in the economy.

don't agree with ugly and boring

maybe if you expected action-packed Kungfu scenes then yeah, but it's really thrilling to watch for the context it places itself in, not a dull moment imo
