I kind of agree but there’s plenty of great “safer” (non boundary pushing) music I listen to that I never get tired of. I think a handful of songs on the album fall into that category like diand where I never get bored of it while other songs like hell of a life, while good, just aren’t super interesting to go back to
I’d much rather relisten to Yeezus or LR most of the time
This is weird. It should have no bearing on how the music itself makes you feel. Do you enjoy the music or not?
Don’t confuse “safe” with taking your time and perfecting his craft….Instead of rushing s*** like he did the albums afterwards.
If anything TLOP is the “safe” mainstream album.
How when it’s his most weird.
Wear a suit for a week like you're in the Rosewood Era. Can't relate man, this album is fresh and is situational ill too lol
What ethnicity is Don C? He looks straight up Indian/middle eastern in the pic lol

If Kanye said it was his best nobody would make threads like this. But he's always fighting the consensus so we end up with people finding wack reasons to s*** on a classic. It's so perfect it's boring? How are any of these songs boring?
Just like as soon he said he didn’t like Golddigger anymore everybody hopped on that bandwagon lol
I love Ye but I don’t care for his opinions of his own music, he’s a prisoner of the moment 9/10….but rightfully so, this ain’t the same Kanye from 04’ so I get it, but I just don’t agree with his takes.
Ye said power was safe not the entire album
Also album is not boring lol
And nothing about Power is safe lol probably his most unconventional lead single ever.
How when it’s his most weird.
It’s all his previous albums mixed into one lol safe as hell
How when it’s his most weird.
cuz everyone loved it. Father Stretch My Hands is literally 2016 safe
I get the argument that an album/work of art is too calculated and, yes, perfect for it to be one of the true greats, but some transcend that as long as they remain singular. MBDTF is singular because it is very obviously the product of a weird mind and displays that weird idiosyncrasy throughout. In that sense it can never be boring.
It’s definitely not one of those albums I’m gonna play everyday like tlop or graduation. It’s way too rich. If that makes any sense.

Ye doing that classic thing some creatives do where they hate on whatever's considered their most popular or best work.
i kinda agree with OP. i rarely listen to MBDTF. but anytime i do, i'm reminded of how good it is. if i listened to it daily, it wouldn't hit as much.
basically, MBDTF is a very rich meal. sometimes you need fast food to cleanse the palate
