yungcartierTo be fair lots of these artists aren’t educated on label contracts, it’s only in recent years that people are spilling the details of how these 360 deals and these label contracts work.
Plus a lot of these artists are were/are getting signed at young, impressionable ages where they’ll cling to the first million dollar loan given to them.
These common defenses of clueless young artists don’t hold water. A perfect a***ogy would be signing on to the military without understanding the terms.

i dont know about you but trying to put an innocent man behind bars is very different to putting criminals, gang members, killers etc behind bars
If you have any sympathy for the people 69 sent to jail then thats a bigger issue than whatever you think of the people criticising megan

You don't have to read the entire contract to know odds are it's a s*** contract.
This simply boils down to not negotiating correctly often due to lack of leverage. These artists are happy to sign these s*** contracts when they have nothing but get upset when they final start making money and realize how much money they could end up making if they didn't sign. Not realizing they would often not get to their current level without signing the same s***ty contract.

The idea of an artist being educated on the industry has not become a thing until now lol
The purpose of the industry is not to even teach artists how to move correctly so that they won’t be finessed because the labels are the finessers lmao.
There’s a reason they prey on the artists that are broke, because they have no leverage and probably no business sense to go independent.
