I got Battle Network 1 Christmas if 2001. There’s an alternative universe where a split second decision almost kept it from happening.

My grandma told me to make a Christmas list. I looked at an older toys r us book to make my list. The games I asked for: Power Puff Girls blossom edition, Rugrats Castle Capers, Spider-Man Mysterios Menace, and Mega Man Xtreme 2.

The very next day the Christmas edition toys r us ad came in & I saw Battle Network. I immediately asked her to get that instead since it was a GBA Mega man game. She almost got Xtreme 2 instead had I not caught her in time. Ended up being my favorite game that Christmas. One of my favorite Christmas’ in general. My Pokémon Crystal save battery died thst Christmas Eve.

Following year the last game my grandma bought me before she got sick was Battle Network 2. High sentimental value for me

Next year was 6th grade. Had to help my sister for a candy sale for s pageant she was in (and won) I didn’t want to do it but my mom promised if I did she would buy me Battle Network 3 White.

Next year All my friends had BN4 but me but I couldn’t afford it. Had to trade in a s*** load of games just to get the 40$ for it

Battle network 5 I just randomly got, can’t remember the story behind it. But I remember getting the DS port later and being mind blown the gba cartridges would change the OST for the battle themes to remixes

Battle network 6 was interesting because I had no clue it existed. I just happened to be in a store and saw it and freaked out. I think I was in 9th grade at this point. Originally was buying something else but I grabbed Gregar with the quickness. I actually cried after I beat Battle Network 6. Very emotional moment for me to finish the game. At this point I’m like 15 or 16 I believe. I had been playing the series since year 1 when I was in 4th grade. These games mean A LOT to me. My favorite series of games uncontested.

the OST from these games are godtier. easily some of my favorite soundtracks of all time

usually i agree with this sentiment but tbf only way to play these now would be either to own them on gameboy or by using an emulator

its the only megaman series besides starforce to not receive a port of any kind

I WAS REPLAYING BATTLE NETWORK 5 (PROTOMAN EDITION) IN AN EMULATOR THE OTHER DAY. GOAT GBA SERIES. THIS IS AMAZING

Playing this on Steam Deck or OLED Switch gonna be the best experience

I remember playing this as a child and I had no idea they made even more than 4 of these until I read this thread somehow. The 4th one is the one I remember the most

Used to be obsessed with this series as a kid. Think I played all of them except 6. Will definitely check this out.
