I agree with this. I don't think the prosecution actually proved the assault charge, just the negligent discharge + possession.

However I can also see the logic of the jury being the following:

1) If Tory was confirmed in possession of the gun and discharged it
2) And Megan was confirmed to have been shot by somebody
3) Then Tory had to be the one to shoot Meg aka sort of proving the assault charge

I think that since Kelsey was not named as a co-defendant there was no need for the jury to consider her as a possible co-assailant (which would've added to the reasonable doubt).

She really was thinking ahead by getting transactional immunity, but truthfully it seems like Kelsey should've gotten charges too
