Before we strawman simply acknowledging it by asking a question like that I think it’s more appropriate to ask WHY hip hop has undergone those changes under the past ten years

But to answer your question rap is very influential to black youth and the same way I wanted red pants or two lines in my haircut as a jit because of Wayne and Kanye, you may have kids subtly/subconsciously acting feminine because that’s the “wave”

It affects grown men so how wouldn’t it affect kids

Next question of course is “what’s wrong with that” lol

I mean sure but the link you posted is someone being a ripoff for attention, same s*** happened after X died (forgot the dudes name) that blew up trying to be just like him. I guess you could be worried about your kid doing this but? idk

That era had stuff like dying their hair or painting their nails. Rappers leave their house now with Cardi or Rosalía nails. And then wear their wife's sunday dress on SNL.

You should probably dig deeper into the genre if thats all you think it is lol.

Also emo punk too. Thats where a lot of the choker s***, horror-like style n make up ideas come from.

And yeah, someone inspired by something usually takes it to the next level.

Its literally mid to late 2000s suburbs myspace rock vh1 core.

I feel like yall forget what most their age is & era lol.

Nah, never been into punk. I liked Linkin and Offspring. That was pretty much it other than rap.

I literally said I've never been into punk lmao. I wasn't guessing, I was saying what I was listening to in the 2000s.

Emo punk & pop punk are the genres i hate the most along with country lol.

Once soundcloud started poppin mainstream wise n you saw the wave shifting to pop emo punk inspired rap styles & fashion thats when i knew it was over for myself. Good for people that like it, but 2017 to 2019 was the worst era of Rap for myself ever.. And even worst its coming off of my fav era of 2009 to 2016.
Way rather take "generic trap" niggas over those niggas anyday.

At least theyre able to be co-existing now.

2021 has been the year of generic ass hip hop music. How many songs can use the same hi-hat/clap with a guitar/flute/piano sample and the same regurgitation on top.

    And then there's Pierre

I applaud everyone in this thread for using their big brains and Masterful ears to make connections and notice things that sound similar . You are all truely Visionary A&R minds. Lol.

I swear it's like people post on ktt2 expecting to be given cookies for commenting in the most absolutely reductive broad strokes terms about entire swaths of culture/music . And it's never positive! Always complaints. Like what is the goal. Even within the context of an online Post I don't get it
