the outrage over this actually gonna make me check out the album
Sexy Red's 500 IQ marketing tactic succeeded
in 2024 i just want the users of KTT2 to be real with themselves.
stop saying you "don't care" about pitchfork, and anthony fantano, and akademiks, and joe budden, and "twitter", and etc.
the truth is some of y'all care about them more than your own opinions. enough to punch keys about it for pages and hours.
be real with yourselves. it feels good.
“Who cares about the Grammys” yet I already know on Grammy Night 2024 there will be a 20+ page thread on this site

Yall are just mad because he gave a high score to a woman
Most of the outrage boils down to this but they won’t admit it

Dawg stfu. This “album” is the worst bullshit I ever put my ears through in my life. It is disgusting pile of dogshit. U need negative brain cells to sit through any of these tracks, I stg anybody who swears they enjoy this are actually dumbasses.
So did Fantano give Kids See Ghosts a 10 post-Fader article, post-400 years of slavery was a choice quote because Kanye is such an unproblematic guy or what
you tried, but this is completely irrelevant to what i said lmfao

Fantano didn’t always give Thug the highest of scores but he’s always had a lot of respect for him as an artist. He gave Jeffery and So Much Fun both 7/10
Huh? Anyone who’s going into an album or any type of art in general should have some idea of what the intentions of said art are.
what i quoted seemed to imply that Fantano was going off “what an album set out to be” and basing his score on that when in reality that’s just his opinion and not any sort of objective marker (which he puts in his descriptions). it makes it sound like all this is not just the dude’s (often s***ty imo) opinion. the only person that can decide what their album sets out to be is the artist, if they make that intention public we can def form our opinions on that, too. sometimes those intentions are not clearly explained and sometimes they can be inferred or folks can have their own interpretations, for sure, it’s all art, but no one’s opinion/interpretation is more valid than the artist’s. that’s all i was sayin, you misunderstood

I was the one who said that, what I meant by that is that reviewers are reviewing and judging these albums on a contextual basis. He’s not going into Hood’s Hottest Princess expecting the same things that he would from To Pimp a Butterfly. Therefore, he’s judging each album contextually from what it’s trying to succeed, not judging every single album ever on the same 1-10 scale of quality

What you're talking about is exactly why number scores are counterproductive to reviewing a body of work. All you get are people who skip to the score and move on. You CANNOT reduce art down to a numbered scale imo, especially an art form as diverse and broad as music. Using a numbered score shows a lack of appreciation for the diversity of art and also always inevitably leads to stan wars
I’m not a melon, man I’m a method man
Baby expect it, the utmost respected, and
Put a bullet to his rearview
He is NOT GOOD, man

*from what he THINKS it’s trying to succeed
you mean. but yeah, i agree. number scores are dumb as f*** in the first place though, and people that don’t realize that and continually bring up the 6/10 for MBDTF are dumb as hell or just trolling lol
