play 1 and 2 first

For story reasons or what? Do 1 and 2 have a modern remake or would I be playing some old ish?

story reasons / lore reasons. it hits much harder. There is a "modern" collection with MGS 1 2 and 3 on all consoles and pc. 1 is gonna be "retro", dont play the twin snakes remake. 2 is HD. and 3 will be the remake. 4 is stuck on ps3. and 5 is on ps and xbox and pc.

I think playing 3 first is actually alright, since it’s the beginning of the story

Yeah some moments hit harder if you know solid snake but the story will still hit really hard without that

Metal Gear is my favorite video game franchise and MGS3 may be my favorite video game, but I cannot get too pumped for this. I'm pretty sure this will sell well, so I'm gonna wait for a sale and just play the og sometime soon to get it out of my system.

Comparing this at $70 to DS2 at $70 is pretty insane of a difference.

This is a PS2 game from 20 years ago with 4K graphics being sold at full price.

There was so much potential here for Konami to flip the original game on its head kinda like what Capcom did with RE4 Remake but they decided to be lazy by making it TOO FAITHFUL like the original except just modernizing the graphics and controls. I'm buying this when it's 50% off or on a deep sale

Ain't no way Konami is touching a MGS4 Remake with a ten foot pole That game is a f***ing MOVIE. You can speed run that game faster than sitting through 7 hours and 41 minutes of cutscenes

I mean i just don't want them f***ing with Kojima's stuff. If they're gonna remake MGS3, make it faithful imo. But also make the og accessible (which it is).

They're kinda doing the right thing here, I just care infinitely less about a graphics upgrade and I care more about seeing games I've loved for 15 years finally escape a console lock on Playstation 3.

everyone debating not getting this are people who don’t want to spend 70 on a game they’ve already played. If you’re someone that hasn’t played, it’s absolutely worth it. It’s very true to the original.

Didn't MGS fans ask for the games to be accessible to current gen lol. Modernizing them and leaving it 1:1 sounds like what would make fans happy instead of changing things and pissing the fanbase off
