I just started a replay last night absolute cinema.

Crazy how the most cinematic game in the series dropped the ball in the story department. Unfinished or whatever the case was, still was a huge letdown. And David Hayter should have been the damn voice.

Game had it's amazing things about it though don't get me wrong. That's what makes it so disappointing imo

I dont think kiefer did a good job but i did like how venom snakes voice being different is part of the story

About to have this beaten, one boss remains

But Snake has had damn near every bone in his body broken during the duration of this game, multiple wounds, rapid healing, and Eva/Tanya acting like some shrapnel gonna kill her

I’ve already played MGS 3 probably 5 or 6 times, most recently as last year. Should I buy this or Death Stranding? Debating

If you haven’t played death stranding, youre in for a huge treat imo. Nothing hits like the first playthrough of ds. It sounds corny but that s*** deeply affected me

Very good question fam... I would say get MGS 3 first so that Konami remakes the other MSG games.

    And well then get DS

Death Stranding for sure if you haven’t played it. One of the most unique and impactful games I’ve ever played.

Just started playing this as my first MGS game I like the mechanics so far, such as altering your camouflage based on the scenery, the stealth mechanics when dealing with enemies such as moving a knocked down enemy’s body away from being discovered, having to deal with different types of wounds in different ways, the fact that Snake needs to hunt and eat etc. Dope stuff for a game originally released in 2004. It definitely feels a bit outdated in terms of the small, closed off, linear areas that have to load in when you proceed to the next section though, and the movement can be a bit wonky at times.

Man I’m stoopid. I kept alerting everyone when trying to take out an enemy by stealth with a headshot because for several hours I didn’t know I could add a suppressor to some of my guns I know my pistol initially had a suppressor but I guess it either just deteriorated with use or perhaps I accidentally detached it in the menu. Either way, stealth got a lot more satisfying now.

Aight, that was quick. I just beat the game. First MGS title I’ve played. Game has some great mechanics for its (original) time (2004). The stealth mechanics, adjusting your camouflage, using different weapons, hunting for food and treating wounds were all things that I enjoyed.

Some things I didn’t enjoy much were: some of the awkward/stiff/clunky/slow movement in certain situations, the story was boring to me, the cutscenes were at times too long, it’s pretty hard to remain completely undetected and when you are detected you get rushed by a lot of enemies at times. Also, the boss fights were not very enjoyable.

I’d give the game like a 6/10 tbh. If this was back in 2004 when the original launched it probably would’ve gotten a higher score, but I’m just judging this remake of an older game I have not played. What would yall say is the best MGS game in terms of gameplay? If I’d like to try another one.

Absolutely MGSV, some of the best TPS & stealth gameplay ever. Play ground zeroes and phantom pain for the best experience, it’ll feel like a natural progression after mgs3 as well

If you’ve played TLOU2 the gameplay is like that but even more fluid, better controlling, and with a huge arsenal to play with. When it’s on sale you can cop it for like $5

Ain’t no way. I loved TLOU 1 & 2. You saying MGS 5 got that kinda fluidity?

The open world isn’t great and people have differing views on the story but the gameplay? you’re in for a treat. I love the combat in tlou2 but to me mgsV is even greater

Sounds good to me man. I just saw that there’s a definitive edition bundle with both Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain on PS5 for only 20 bucks so I just pulled the trigger. What’s the difference between Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain? Should they be played in a certain order?

Edit: Just saw that Ground Zeroes came out first and is like a prologue for Phantom Pain so I might do GZ first.

    Ground zeroes first
It's like an epilogue to peacewalker game story

It being pretty hard to not be detected is why the game is endlessly replayable. I still want to accomplish a no saves no alert no kills european extreme run 1 day. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being found and going to guns blazing as well. Sure its a stealth game but kojima understood the layers that defined it as tactial espionage action.
