I really enjoyed this. I watched 1 and 2 for the first time the day before coz my friend wanted to go see 3. From a fresh perspective on the trilogy having seen them all within 24 hours, I'd say 3 is the best one

Looking at a 57M opening weekend, the highest opening in the franchise and higher then MGM’s last major franchise opening No Time To Die

This was really good. Solid B. The action was 10/10, phenomenal. Niggas in my theater were cheering and clapping during the final fight when that punch landed and Adonis dropped to his knees, all the ladies in my theater was screaming “get up” “getcho ass up!”

Narrative and plot wise it was lacking. Felt like they needed another 30 minutes to flesh Dame, and Adonis’ past up, flesh out why his mom kept him from seeing Dame, etc.

Movie was a train wreck from beginning to end. It felt like things were just happening w very little rhyme/ reason. I knew s*** was off when J. Majors kept switching his accent

Why not make Dame come across as a worldbeater? He fought Adonis w a 1-0 record They could’ve at minimum given a 5 min montage of him fighting to build him up

The rivalry could’ve been more fleshed out, and Dame’s antics/ personality as well. Besides him being upset at Adonis, what else was there to him?

Was dame really warranted in regards to all the resentment and anger he held towards Adonis? Bro was mad Adonis ran and he got caught…they barely even talked about their interpersonal relationship growing up, whether it was them boxing together, the group home, or the situation at hand. What was I supposed to be connected to?

Ending was ass too. I think the fight should’ve ended in a tie, or a Dame W with the set up for A. Another fight or B. The burying of the hatchet. All of that nonsense just for them to be like it wasn’t your fault and dap up at the end?

This movies saving grace were the fight scenes, notably the last one. The writing was all over the place, and there were so many loose ends throughout.

I think this movie is most comparable to the rocky w tommy gunn in it. That movie imo is the worst of the rocky movies 1-5, however this one is even worse

My only major complaints is i really missed Rocky, everything felt rushed so it makes the story weightless and Dame should of won

Personally I think the story for 2 should have been switched for 3. Have this be a combo of Rocky 3/5 and save big bad Drago for 3.

Looks great, the few fights we get were pretty experimental for this franchise but I liked it

Just like 30ish minutes more to build more for the finale & like one more fight thrown in and I would of been fine
