I wonder if the daughter is the next Creed in the sequel that we’ll follow on her road to legend
Yea him having only a 1-0 record was kinda funny with all the s*** talking
It’s just hard to take things serious when you see that posted on screen lol

I hope they do Drago his story has potential to be really good
Movie was alright felt like the stakes weren't high enough. Wish they fleshed it out a bit more.

Aren’t they doing a TV show for him?
Fire fire fire. Really loved this.
Loved the inclusion of sign language and it didn’t feel shoehorned in, obviously.
Some of the cinematography and editing was a little corny but still a solid debut for MBJ as a director.
Actually didn’t find MBJ acting to be bad, aside from Fruitvalle station, Creed suits him perfectly. But clearly as we all know Jonathon motherfuckin Majors was the standout. Got damn, even the little subtle movements and facial expressions he does is crazy. Give this man an Oscar sooner than later.
The dialogue was hit or Miss for sure, some things were explained a little too much. Like Tessa telling MBJ “you might have to go say goodbye to your mom” to me that’s unnecessary being how the next scene plays out. Also they need to give Tessa a better role, she really fell into the background and was forgotten about by the 2nd half of the film.
But all and all a dope movie, it might edge out Creed 2 for me but Creed 1 is still the best film out the trilogy.

Definitely seemed obvious that that’s where they are heading next. Love that idea. Especially with balancing her being deaf and the bullying that comes with that.
And this might just be me reading wayyyy to deeply into it, but seeing the Kobe Jersey decorated in his show room made me parallel how Kobe retired and started focusing on coaching his daughter with Creed retiring from boxing and what seems he’ll be now training his daughter
I also love the on-going theme of ‘generational trauma/curses’ that’s been present in all 3 movies.
Why y’all want a Rocky cameo?
I definitely missed Rocky, but he wasn’t needed in this at all. It would of been corny if Creed got out of retirement, went to seek out for Rocky to train him one last time If they really are looking to now shift things to being a more Creed-based story, then this was a good turning point.
One thing they gotta stop doing tho is during the big fight in the end creed gets knocked down in the last round, slow motion, we don’t know if he’s gonna get up, well obviously we do, and then he gets up all sudden super charged and starts kicking ass. They’ve done it too many times now to the point it’s becoming gimmicky
Aren’t they doing a TV show for him?
Wasn’t too sure but glad they are!
The Mexican boxer didn't look like a heavyweight at all
This! They need to get a more threatening fighter next time for that role. At first I thought he was just some scrub everyone beats up on at the gym.
Oh one more thing, I’m a little iffy on the twist. I don’t think I like the whole Dame was setting him up the whole time. Would’ve been better if Dame was actually genuine at the start but winning + fame made him turn, rather than him just having a sinister plan from day 1\. Because there’s great conflict there between Dame feeling like his boy abandoned him when all he did was try and protect Donnie and got locked up for it VS Donnie never getting the letters and not knowing how to handle the situation being he was so young at the time. I think Dame already having this master plan that gets perfectly executed kind of cheapens that dynamic.

I didn’t mind it, it can be gimmicky for sure but I think depending on the execution it can make for an exciting crowd moment. Especially in this one cause that stomach punch was like you felt every bit of pain Adonis did, people in my theater gasp seeing it
some of the best boxing sequences in the series
I did miss Rocky though
And I don’t like the Tessa Thompson singing stuff at all lol. Hated it in the other 2 movies too
Wait really? I’m the opposite I think she needed more in this. I like that she has her own journey while battling going deaf. if you remove that, she would just be a girlfriend watching her man fight.

It’s just the singing part I had an issue with
It’s just so obvious that she’s lip syncing
Her character/deafness I had no prob with otherwise
to all y’all thinking about seeing this please do so on a $5 Tuesday. I spent $30 for 2 tickets and couldn’t be more upset.
Movie was a train wreck from beginning to end. It felt like things were just happening w very little rhyme/ reason. I knew s*** was off when J. Majors kept switching his accent
Dame could’ve been a really good character but they took 5 minutes to flesh him out?
No boxing gym would accept a nigga like that on earth, much less would they offer him a title shot after deliberately trying to hurt the champ and also being 0-0 at the time
Why not make Dame come across as a worldbeater? He fought Adonis w a 1-0 record
They could’ve at minimum given a 5 min montage of him fighting to build him up
The rivalry could’ve been more fleshed out, and Dame’s antics/ personality as well. Besides him being upset at Adonis, what else was there to him?
The Mexican nigga was a HW ?
Was dame really warranted in regards to all the resentment and anger he held towards Adonis? Bro was mad Adonis ran and he got caught…they barely even talked about their interpersonal relationship growing up, whether it was them boxing together, the group home, or the situation at hand. What was I supposed to be connected to?
Why was MBJ wife so f***ing annoying?
Apollo wife died who’s been a staple in this series since the 80s and it felt meaningless
Ending was ass too. I think the fight should’ve ended in a tie, or a Dame W with the set up for A. Another fight or B. The burying of the hatchet. All of that nonsense just for them to be like it wasn’t your fault and dap up at the end?
This movies saving grace were the fight scenes, notably the last one. The writing was all over the place, and there were so many loose ends throughout.
I think this movie is most comparable to the rocky w tommy gunn in it. That movie imo is the worst of the rocky movies 1-5, however this one is even worse
5/10 movies saving grace was the fight scenes and cinematography overall
Dame had 100% reason to be mad at Donnie, lmao you serious?
Ima assume you never had anybody you love go to jail/prison. If you haven’t that’s a great thing and a blessing (don’t take that as an insult) but the point is to them, those letters and phone calls mean the world to them. And all they got.
Dame got arrested for essentially protecting Donnie, someone he considered his brother, yeah it was his fault for having a gun but the intention of him pulling it out was to save Donnie, who was at blame for why the fiasco even started. But anybody in that situation would feel hurt if they wrote letter after letter and didn’t hear nothing back. Not a phone call, not a letter, no commissary, nothing. Like I’m doing 18 years right now for tryna protect you and I can’t even get a letter? I would be furious too. 18 is odeee especially starting in your child hood and missing out on the future you wanted. And come to find out the nigga living the life you wanted is ya brother who you protected but can’t even write you back…

Ok I get what you saying. I’m not even sure if Tessa can really sing but I thought the songs in Creed 1 was lowkey fire
Why y’all want a Rocky cameo?
i just wanted to hear the horns from the rocky theme atleast once. love that song

I only dislike it because I knew it was coming, you know? It’s always at the same round, at the same time, with the same conclusion. Maybe if they still utilize it but switch it around, I actually would of been shocked if a big knock down like that happened the first round

Yeah I get what you mean I think if they make more they shouldn’t do anything like that anymore, I think cause of how effective that moment was in the first creed movie they want to repeat but even if I enjoyed it in this it still doesn’t come close to that first one, especially with that short clip of Apollo
Why y’all want a Rocky cameo?
Because Rocky is really likeable in the Creed movies. He always has something wise to say and he always provided guidance and direction for Creed.
Also how he don’t show up to Creed’s mother funeral??

I guess lol. Makes the film stronger imo that it’s as good as it was without him needing to make an appearance.
