No idea what the point of that tweet is. Sign o the Times was a double album with live versions of the albums. That alone would put it at 4 discs. Add in the unreleased tracks and the tour film and that's 6 discs. Issa big album.

The biggest album of all time? Gets a s***ty new logo & a single disc of material (that no one knows what it is). No Making of Thriller, no Thriller short film, or Billie Jean etc.

Tweet is kinda corny how they're trying to diminish(?idk) an all time classic masterpiece album saying it peaked #6 but I think the situations are also a little different cuz that prince era had so much unreleased stuff to release that made it feel much bigger than just an ordinary album reissue with bonus tracks. Idk if there is a huge amount of unreleased stuff similar to that for thriller the estate would deem releasable, I already have a handful of songs but I'm not really an expert on mj vault

Agree on the packaging tho which seems lackluster and just makes me thinks this is a commercial thing and theyre not really trying to do something great to commemorate legacy. Gonna have to read stuff on forums about sound quality but I kinda doubt this reissue will be able to improve on sound too. thriller is already one of the best sounding albums I know and the "180g half step" type thing is totally a marketing gimmick but im not an audiophile or anything

I don't think they're downplaying the album itself, just emphasizing that for how much Commercial success Thriller has had it seems low effort

sad to say but some artists legacies just get paid dust. his kids are old enough to step in now and probably should, but who knows if they care anymore than the executors.

I'd say 90% of the Thriller vault material is out on the internet already (in solid quality too) and that's being generous. It's probably closer to 95%. I'm not looking forward to nothing with this, especially when they'll probably do some dumb s*** like throw another era song on this like they did with For All Time on Thriller25.
Bad and Dangerous eras have way more truly unreleased s*** in the vaults. They owe us real super deluxe box sets for those which we'll probably never get.

Give us the Victory Tour footage... Remastered music videos... Thriller4k especially....

Look up the Genesis of Thriller podcast. It's a one hour long podcast, it goes through the making of the album and a large majority of the unreleased tracks that didn't make the finished album. Plays each one too.
