there was just the one Ye remix, will.i.am was the one who did multiple
(and they were booty)
I remember buying The Girl is Mine 2008 on iTunes lmao
MJ re-recorded his vocals for the Wanna Be remix with Akon too.
Beat It w Fergie is easily the worst
maybe, still seems kinda apples vs. oranges tho since its a big ass box set vs. just an ordinary album reissue of an album you probably couldnt do a big box set for
But that’s the problem, you could.
There’s no Making of Thriller. There’s none of the short films, no Motown 25, no Victory Tour, no Spike Lee documentary. The short films helped catapult Thrilller just as much as the songs did.
This is the biggest album in the history of music, and it’s been given a new crappy logo and a 2nd disc of ??
Prince’s estate went all out, and put together a well crafted set - if the MJ Estate do this for the biggest album ever, I dread to think what other reissues would look like.
feel like yesterday when i was waiting in line to buy the vinyl
How old are you?
There's any artists of this new generation that would make you do the same thing again?
Kendrick, if you’re talking mainstream
"Disc 2: Features Thriller-era bonus material including previously unreleased demos."
f***ing NEED these on streaming
Need receipts on “most influential”
I'd say 90% of the Thriller vault material is out on the internet already (in solid quality too) and that's being generous. It's probably closer to 95%. I'm not looking forward to nothing with this, especially when they'll probably do some dumb s*** like throw another era song on this like they did with For All Time on Thriller25.
Bad and Dangerous eras have way more truly unreleased s*** in the vaults. They owe us real super deluxe box sets for those which we'll probably never get.
Give us the Victory Tour footage... Remastered music videos... Thriller4k especially....

I envy what the prince estate has done so much. Their box sets are beautifully done and true collectors items. They’ve released some really cool merch pieces over the years too and the concert releases have been handled well.
I just can’t believe how careless the MJ estate has been. From the low quality social media pictures, to the incorrect facts in their posts (like the one about Money), the lack of releases, and when they do it has 4th grade typography attached. And how dare they put pre-orders up for this thriller 40 mess six months ahead of time yet can’t even release a track list yet. They expect us to pay blindly.

I get it, Prince has a ton more material. He was a quantity guy and Jackson definitely wasn't.
But, there's still huge missed opportunities here. It's such a shame.
The only collector box we got so far was cardboard, awful fake leather and the ticket had the wrong date on it! Not to mention a VHS poorly restored concert.. The whole thing is just so upsetting.
I know the remixes sucked on T25 but the cover art was cool, there was the holographic book edition and the whole thing was just so much better so far.
The biggest short film of all time is in their hands in pristine 4K with 7.1 audio and we have to watch... this?!
f***ing NEED these on streaming
I think that's the only positive so far lol. Getting stuff like Hot Street in (hopefully) good quality on streaming? Yes please!
they said it themselves in the tweet the unreleased material from that era is unmatched
i get being frustrated and they sème so want the MJ estate to take some pages from Prince estate but that original tweet is corny as f*** considering SOTT is classic
Here's the 40th Anniversary vinyl: https://www.target.com/p/michael-jackson-thriller-40th-anniversary-target-exclusive-vinyl/-/A-86690645
painfully lame. The 180 g lp is tempting but a 100 bucks?

Apparently it's a good price for the type of master?

Fergie Beat It really is woat stuff
anyone remember thriller 25 with those wack Ye remixes? that s*** dropped when Mike was still alive and was hot trash.
sad to say but some artists legacies just get paid dust. his kids are old enough to step in now and probably should, but who knows if they care anymore than the executors.
S*** was AWFUL
Can't believe it's been that long already tho damn
Need a vinyl. I just bought an original pressing over the weekend ironically
You gonna get the OneStep master?
