Look up the Genesis of Thriller podcast. It's a one hour long podcast, it goes through the making of the album and a large majority of the unreleased tracks that didn't make the finished album. Plays each one too.
tysm for recommending this. i listened to it yesterday and man i already considered it as one of my favourite albums but it gave me a whole different level of appreciation. idk why but that human nature part made me emotional for some reason
one of the greatest songs of all time created because of the slim chance of Quincy leaving the room and letting the tape run while the demo started playing… damn.
his best song

Yeah no problem it’s a beautiful listen, that era really was magic never to be seen again.
Speaking of Human Nature… this mix done from the multitracks has extra vocals that aren’t on the final song. Definitely a must listen.
I get it, Prince has a ton more material. He was a quantity guy and Jackson definitely wasn't.
But, there's still huge missed opportunities here. It's such a shame.
The only collector box we got so far was cardboard, awful fake leather and the ticket had the wrong date on it! Not to mention a VHS poorly restored concert.. The whole thing is just so upsetting.
I know the remixes sucked on T25 but the cover art was cool, there was the holographic book edition and the whole thing was just so much better so far.
The biggest short film of all time is in their hands in pristine 4K with 7.1 audio and we have to watch... this?!
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOnqjkJTMaA&ab_channel=michaeljacksonVEVOExactly. And what kills me is the fact that the Prince estate is ignoring a mainstream approach with their releases and are just trying their best to cater to the fanbase. The MJ estate is clearly all about “safe” approach and the bottom line. What’s crazy is I loved the Bad box sets and how they handled the demos they released etc. It sold badly (no pun intended lol) and I guess that’s why they haven’t done anything my similar since. Which is absolutely ridiculous. They obviously worry about how public perception might end up tanking any release post LN.
And where the hell is the Opus re-release? They need to do one, even if it has to be extremely limited again (remove Wade’s entry though). I don’t think most MJ fans even know what the Opus is or that it exists. It’s an amazing item.

The positive for me is that the coverage so far has been overly positive & Twitter had a great reaction (MJ is still trending today)
Coupled with the storming success of MJ Musical (predicted to win some big Tony's)
Hopefully we'll get more projects now the dust has settled. I'd love to know what HIStory 25 was going to be pre-LN and COVID

Were there rumors of a history 25? That would’ve been fire, I know there has to be a lot of material in the stash from that time.

Yessir. You also have to check all of the multitrack remixes from Triumph, they’re crazy. Like this one with MJ singing the horn section part at the beginning.
album really came and went huh
damn you putting me on fr i never knew this existed
It’s so much s*** out there that the estate is just sitting on. This is another remix but with the PYT multitracks, this has extra vocals too. Thankfully a few talented people got their hands on these stems and made remix masterpieces. Like this guy reflex, he somehow got the actual stems and just re-arranges them into crazy s***. He doesn’t add anything that wasn’t done by Mike and Quincy.
