I still haven't seen the whole film fam haha. I've caught 20-30 mins of it when it was on TV years ago, but that's it.
I got it on blu a couple years back but just havent gotten around to it
would pair nicely with Drums Along The Mohawk which you don't appear to have logged :elon: very classic Ford
It went through a relatively popular reappraisal several years ago and it's tends to get the respect it deserves nowadays (outside of most pop journalism i mean)
Wait it did? Didn’t know ppl were backtracking from originally bashing it

Yeah it's reappraisal was probably most popular around 2014-2016, undoubtedly boosted by the unfair way the press responded to Blackhat. Other films like Speed Racer and TP: Fire Walks with Me were going through reappraisals around the same time too.
I was pretty staggered by the density on rewatch putting it over Heat as well probably
there u go
"The movie, which Mann has been working on for two decades, is set during the summer of 1957. Ex-racecar driver, Ferrari, is in crisis. Bankruptcy stalks the company he and his wife, Laura, built from nothing ten years earlier. Their tempestuous marriage struggles with the mourning for one son and the acknowledgement of another. He decides to counter his losses by rolling the dice on one race – 1,000 miles across Italy, the iconic Mille Miglia."

Michael Mann’s late career magnum opus incoming
Ali is the only Mann I haven’t seen, idk if it’s worth watching because I don’t really care for Ali as a person tbh and the movie is long as f***.

@elric @RASIE Manhunter slander
I love manhunter
This type of acting…is an acquired taste.,there are more nuanced ways to play an unhinged character
@twinkletoez
I actually like it
Assumed cause of the ranking
Oh haha. Nah manhunter is still a 4/5 for me
I actually like it
that’s fair, I’m not into it, it works for me in something like Carlitos Way that’s more melodramatic, the bombastic stuff fits there more
looks hype but OP you gotta take Mann’s name out the title, he only directed the pilot episode. You just bamboozling ppl with that title lol
