Damn and more than the recreation of the dance moves, I'm actually more impressed with how he emulates MJs voice. Like wtf dude is talented asf. That's impressive. I was thinking if they maybe did A.I or something but nah he pulled that s*** off. I hope Jaafar gets nominated on his first film that'd be cool

He will only be seen as his uncle, especially if “MICHAEL 2” is actually fast tracked.

Love the tweaks they added to "Thriller" I need that s*** mastered

And those slow footsteps on one of the takes that they did was hard asf. At least from what I remember they didn't do that in the original so I'm assuming that was new

I'm really looking forward to the 4K blu ray home release. I love what they did with Bad too. It's just mixed so well.

Yeah, that companion soundtrack feels like such a missed opportunity after seeing the film a few times.

Guess we'll have to make our own

There’s plenty undefendable things about MJ. I don’t give a f*** who you are you ain’t sleeping in bed with my 10 year old nevermind for a month straight, bro bought the pedo essentials for the sleepovers too, candy, dvd’s on bulk and a theme park. Yeah he was never convicted but you can’t tell me you are down with that bro I don’t give a f*** who it is or what happened to them, you can’t defend that s*** its creepy asf. Best pop artist of all time best performer of all time but he was a creep

With the sequel now confirmed, do you think there may be a possibility within the narrative to rectify/bring back some of the stuff that was cut? Could there be an Oppenheimer-esque editing style on the table here? with so much left on the cutting room floor.

Or do we just do the Director's Cut re-release and leave it at that

a sequel seems like nasty work. i would imagine most of the film would have to be about his trial. seems a bit insensitive to possible victims to make a sequel to basically solely profit off of their stories. Plus if that's how the movie was, I don't think anyone would WANT to watch that s***, MJ fans wouldn't wanna watch it, and for the rest there would be a bad taste about the whole thing.

Would have been better if they done like different eras of his music career. First film could have been Jackson 5, sequel could have been his solo career, both were so important to music and culture they deserve that time, in the film there were some inaccurate info like his dad being the one to call him big nose. it was actually his brothers that gave him that childhood nickname not his dad, just small inconsistencies like that. if they fleshed it out separately they could have focused more on making it more accurate.

I think there's a lot of conjecture here and I'm not sure if you've upset yourself watching a Fantano video or if you're just upset the biopic is doing well.

Fantano + others, (presumably including yourself based on this post) seem to have an opinion that Michael Jackson fans will blindly agree with his behaviours across every aspect of his life.

That's not really the truth, and I know, being part of this world for 28+ years. Agreeing and accepting/understanding are two very different things.

I'll be honest. There is no agreeing with certain aspects of his life. When you apply common societal norms you will find that Michael was very different in a number of ways (not just in this area).

But you are also not understanding the why this was. Michael Jackson didn't have any societal norm in his life. When you compare him to the man down the street, was the man down the street violently abused and exploited from a young age, before becoming the most famous person on the planet by their early 20s?

Look at Rose Fine, look at what life was like growing up as a Jackson 5 member for him. You start to understand the experiences that shape the viewpoint of life as a whole.

Neverland was a safe haven for all. For all the children this, children that and "creep" behaviour did you know Neverland frequently hosted days for all age ranges (including specific Senior days). Did you know Neverland was open on these days whether Michael was there or not? There are hundreds and thousands of people who visited Neverland, shared their stories of it, and Michael wasn't even there. Neverland was a slice of life he could not enjoy or experience outside of those gates. No one else could understand what that would mean. Look at the videos of MJ being hired out a retail store with friends in disguises so he could see what grocery shopping was like. Think about how impossibly sad that situation is.

Most of Michael Jackson's behaviours and thoughts would probably have suited being unpicked with a very experienced therapist from a young age. But when you are exploited to the level he was from the wide range of people he was (including medical professionals), these things aren't an option. HIPAA laws weren't a thing until 1996.

There is no agreeing with certain things. But there is an understanding. Applying context. And not just personal context. No personal experience will ever suit what Michael Jackson was in any aspect of his life. It's never happened before or again and never should. Because it's a very lonely tale of exploitation from the very beginning.

And there is certainly a difference between behaviours that do not fit societal norms, and criminal behaviours. And that is a whole separate discussion.

You are talking about things someone recently wrote about that I found quite interesting. Maybe you will too. Take a read:

This wasn't the greatest biopic movie in the world from a Storytelling or structural standpoint but goddammit as a lifelong MJ fan since I was basically in pampers this movie hit for me. I was on the verge of at points, Jaafar did his thing especially during human nature.

As a movie fan I give it a 6/10 but my heart would go 10 im sorry.
