What’s the likelihood of Amazon or Google just buying Sony in the next 10 years

Sony doesn’t have $$$ to compete on this scale

I feel like if anyone it’ll be Apple.

They’re losing out on the gaming market big time.

Zero because Sony is a Japanese company and the government doesn't let westerners buy their businesses or you gotta be a japanese citizen or something like that

Y’all need to look up the word monopoly

Then we say monopolization instead, doesn't make a difference. The way capitalism evolves, the bigger companies swallow the more smaller companies and competition becomes the victim of its own success. This is the way it has always been and I am surprised it took so long for it to happen in the gaming industry. TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if we get more mega-acquisitions soon.

    Nintendo PlayStation soon come.

Japan doesn't have such laws, you are mistaking it with China's joint venture laws. Although the government - bureaucracy - company triangle will do their best to keep certain jobs in Japan

Sony joining apple would mean there are more devices and cloud subscriptions available for them to play with. Not only that, but they’d get access to all those middle aged people who don’t usually play video games. Imagine Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, apple fitness, PS Plus all under one subscription.

The ability to play PS games on your iPhone, mac, iPad. The money to be made would be ridiculous.

Games have gotten more expensive to make and the technology needed to make such advance games hasn't kept up with the visions of the creators and the demands of the consumers so the entire development process just ballooned in terms of man-hours needed for every game. Unless we can get AI automating immense parts of the development process (seems unlikely with today's technology), this is the way of AAA gaming baybay

serious question, if the idea that sony will be bought is out there, why not the same for Nintendo? sony has more to go on than Nintendo do if we're being honest lmao. that's a weird take imo.
