Take 2 entertainment already bought by the chinese if im not wrong
hope it's tencent
serious question, if the idea that sony will be bought is out there, why not the same for Nintendo? sony has more to go on than Nintendo do if we're being honest lmao. that's a weird take imo.
Nobody care about Nintendo they have their own market and consumers who won’t necessarily purchase a PS or Xbox
Yall think this means cod bout to be xbox exclusive?
yes besides warzone
Yall think this means cod bout to be xbox exclusive?
Probably cause Phil Spencer hates Sony and wants them to suffer a cruel bankruptcy.

Nintendo has insane cash reserves and would probably only want Sony's gaming division anyway. It's the biggest part of Sony's business (about 30%) but not the only one.
Games have gotten more expensive to make and the technology needed to make such advance games hasn't kept up with the visions of the creators and the demands of the consumers so the entire development process just ballooned in terms of man-hours needed for every game. Unless we can get AI automating immense parts of the development process (seems unlikely with today's technology), this is the way of AAA gaming baybay
i meant more on why it wasn't becoming unified earlier
wasn't booming as much. lucrative yeah but now it's boomin. weirdly enough it's not that different from before, we just got way more ppl in it now
hope the chinese buy out all 3 when they begin their global takeover
no more discord, just wechat

Activision boss basically says that they couldn't keep up with the competition:
"The most important is — it’s funny, you and I were talking about AI last time — as you look at the increased competition between Tencent, and NetEase, and Sony, and now you have Google and Amazon, and Apple, and Facebook, and Microsoft and Netflix. We were looking at over the course of the next couple of years, and starting to realize that we need thousands of people to be able to execute against our production plans. We need them in disciplines like AI and machine learning, or in data a***ytics, or in purpose-built cloud and cybersecurity — and that we just don’t have. And that competition for that talent is expensive, and really hard to come by.
And so, as we’re starting to think about all these skills that we need, that we don’t have and that were really necessary, we realized that we should be thinking about ways to get that talent. This was an acknowledgement and recognition. And then Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft and Phil Spencer, head of gaming at Microsoft and I have had conversations over many, many years of bigger things that we could do together."

Chinese mobile games are insanely good lmao I underestimated that stuff before I first saw it played by a Chinese girl. We don't even get most of their stuff over here and they don't bother with translating it because their userbase is already massive.

damn so it's not even pressure from other gaming companies, just big entities in general
this bigger than sony and microsoft then

GamesBeat: There’s a little irony in, I guess, interpreting what you’re saying. It almost feels like Activision Blizzard was too small.
Kotick: It’s true. I think like, you’d think, oh, we’re this big company and have just these great resources. But when you’re comparing us to, you know, $2 trillion companies and $3 trillion companies and trillion dollar companies and $500 billion companies, you realize, we may have been a big company in video gaming, but now, when you look at the landscape of who the competitors are, it’s a different world today than ever before. I think Strauss did a good deal with things, because I think he realized he needed mobile. But I think that even if we were to have consolidated within EA, that wouldn’t have given us what we’re going to need going forward. And so you needed to have a big partner in order to be able to make it work.

we all know that story, but I'm saying Sony just not a gaming company. I could see Nintendo being sold more likely than Sony but either selling is highly unlikely imo

Cause nintendo got the biggest dweebs and brand followers. You not winning that fight. They willingly take their s***ty hardware practice for more mario games lol. Also their price tag to be bought is probably way too high

Reading this I don't think any foreign company would get approved to buy sony or nintendo lol

You simply cannot put a price tag on Nintendo‘s IPs. Look at the stupid amount of copies they’re selling, mostly full-price.
If Microsoft had not made big moves with gamepass it would just be Nintendo and Sony . Many PlayStation fans were cheering for Sony to have 0 competition
I’m not a fan of first person shooters also never played a Crash or Spyro game so this doesn’t affect me. Still struggling to even get a PS5
