I’m not saying this guy specifically because I don’t know but there are definitely a bunch of White people on YouTube (and other music reviewing platforms) that pretend to like Trap music much more than they actually do in order to seem “cool/not out of touch”. It’s basically “I’m not like the other girls” but replace girls with old boomers who listen to rock/young alt kid that listens to rock

Not saying they might not genuinely enjoy these trap artists, but I feel like they exaggerate or at the very least unnecessarily point out how much they enjoy it opposed to other music to overcompensate so people don’t think they’re closed minded
