So I don’t usually watch horror like that, but holy s*** this was fantastic. My neighbors are big Flanagan fans and they suggested a group watch and I’m glad I took them up on it.
It’s one of those shows that isn’t quite predictable, but unfurls just enough for you to realize what’s about to happen just as it does and it makes it such an entertaining watch.

Naw tbh you knew what was happening by the third episode

I mean more of the individual moments like what Riley plans to do on the boat with Erin and why he brought them out there to explain but I do agree about the overall arc. IMO I kind of was losing patience around episode 4 and then s*** picked back up

Truuuu the boat episode was really nice I did genuinely think Riley was going to eat her and s***
My favorite episode was the first one tbh. That’s usually my problem with horror stuff though. They do a really good job setting up the mystery and the suspense and then the payoff is never satisfying
It was quite a slow burn but I thought it was good. I think this is probably Flangan’s most personal piece — the AA stuff + the fact he was an altar boy growing up, I wonder how loosely based Riley is on himself
This might be the most middle-of-the-road Netflix Original I've seen.
Sheriff and Monsignor are phenomenal but can't imagine why anyone would have the desire to revisit this.

The what happens after we die monologues in particular, I thought were laughably self-indulgent. I've yet to rewatch but I really enjoyed the set up episodes, up until they kind of dropped the ball in the last 3 episodes, but overall I liked it.
