great film
The entire B.o.B./Wiz Khalifa/Lupe/Flo Rida era of Atlantic was Caren. The pre-packaged rap singles with pre-written and sung pop hooks already attached was his idea and playbook. All of the beats were done by Atlantic/Warner signed producers and the same went for the writers of the hooks.
Direct correlate with the cultural decline of albums
You already here
Have something to actually say and something to represent beyond “I’m ___ genre archetype”
Connecting deeply with audiences through your pathos is gonna be more important than ever. The substantive embodiment of that is Pac and prime Ye, the putrid version being 6ix9ine
My version: focus on quotable lyrics and creating a world that relate deeper to a demographic that isn’t being spoken to
Basically niggas gon take the wrong lessons and bout to be music Andrew Tates

Back when he had APG, Soundclick producers were tryna get put on like crazy.

Kanye lowkey is already music Andrew Tate
But intriguing to imagine someone new doing that
XXX lowkey would have been too powerful if he made it to the Twitch era and still had a crazy fanbase lol

Imagine a “healthy” replacement for that type of figure who does it in lyrics ala my avi circa debut-Fearless-Speak Now
And the most heartbroken and depressed and mentally ill and broke generation of male youth? Tsst

What’s a healthy way to do it without coming across as corny or preachy though? That’s an interesting puzzle to solve for whatever artist attempts it

I got you hold on
Lmaoo Mike Caren having a sound click is crazy
He was signing producers fresh off of soundclick at the time. People used to be able to send music to him and his A&Rs directly. This was like 2010-2013.
There used to be a whole clique of ppl getting placements through there. Johnny Juliano, MdL, Kane Beatz, Jahlil's brother Beat Bully, etc.

You can say how you felt and how hurt you are without sounding like an loser crybaby, hell you can kinda be jokey/sarcastic about it. Another key I didn’t write here is to use more masculine sounds as well, none of that simp sounding s***. Make it motivational make it cinematic but still heartbreaking
Demo I’ve posted a thousand times

Bruno Mars was one of these writer and producers. He was signed to Atlantic and that was his job in 2009. He was part of that B.o.B/Lupe Fiasco/Travie McCoy/Cee-Lo Green group
He wrote the chorus and produced Nothin’ On You (originally for Lupe Fiasco) and Billionaire. He wasn’t meant to be in the songs, he was just a writer and demo singer, but they decided to keep his vocals in the official versions and then the songs became big hits launching his career
I think the oldest one is Lil Wayne’s Mirror. The instrumental and hook with Bruno’s vocals were made and recorded in the 2008 and offered to different people, including Kanye. Lil Wayne picked the song, wrote his verses and it came out in 2011.
