That’s a super tough decision for me. They’re so different but both so damn great. I might have them equal right now tbh, maybe a very slight edge for Getting Killed but that’s probably just recency bias. I agree though, two of my favourite albums in recent times by a long shot

i might just be chatting but mkgee (& dijon) lowkey resurrected the appreciation for singer-songwriters in the post-frank tiktok era these last few years, which helped geese/cam be more palatable to a bigger audience so they could flourish

i wanna believe you but who really is this bigger audience? genuine question because idk, they still seem pretty underground aside from the cosigns but im prolly just out of the loop. s*** still sucks and is worse than ever for 99.9% though i think

for geese? mostly the masses of the younger gen like teens through 20s, where atleast 95% of their music exposure is through tiktok/social media. geese is blowing up heavy with all their shows sold out, big late night spots, songs being used in movies already etc. plus they got added to camp flog gnaw today so the tyler cosign will expose them to an even wider audience. i agree about your last point but my point is mkgee/dijon have sort of been opening doors for this approach to music/style to get big again among younger audiences in the weird landscape music's been in with streaming after covid. time will tell though for sure. i think it's very telling how loved bieber's albums he dropped this year were, yukon & daises being two of the biggest songs of the year and both essentially dijon songs born directly from his & mkgee's sound
