tbf, with the way technology exponentially improves & the amount of research teams devoted to developing a vaccine, i’m not shocked this is the shortest interval before creating a vaccine after a pandemic
plus, iirc, the virus got out in the first place bc researchers were trying to figure out a vaccine before the virus naturally evolved into the public sphere & one of them didn’t play it safe enough, but i don’t think that’s completely confirmed
