I will repost here what I said in the midst of all this happening last night because I think it's important

I can't get my head around your life being like this
you break down crying and there is a crowd in front of you with cameras in your face, the video is shared and laughed at by millions
your marriage is breaking down and millions of people are watching it, talking about it, mocking it
the concept of being a celebrity with mental health issues is f***ing dystopian

We should promote destigmatizing mental health issues but we must also consider how amplified and escalated these issues can be in the role of a modern celebrity, especially one at the level of Kanye. To have this many eyes on you, this much pressure and scrutiny on you, not to mention the battle of people who hate you vs yes men who would do anything for your approval, it's just insane to comprehend.

F*** the music, f*** the shoes, f*** the politics, none of it f***ing matters. If you're a 'true fan' you should care about this man being healthy and happy with his family above all else.

Been dealing with depression and anxiety for a few years now since I was 19. Nothing but love for Kanye and nothing but love for the KTT fam. Mental health needs to be taken seriously and in the current social climate it's more urgent than ever. Take care of yourselves guys

You can disagree with Kanye while being concerned about his mental health. In fact, his family is also doing that.

thanks spooky for making this thread and opening up about your own issues

talking about mental health issues is hard and a lot of people like to write it off and just tell people to "get better"

i've been dealing with anxiety on and off for the past 4 or so years - to the point where i've had to call 911 multiple times because i literally think i'm dying during my panic attacks. It's honestly tough to understand how the mind works until you're in the middle of these situations and it can really affect everybody in different ways.

I think people need to realize more and more that there's no cookie-cutter solution to solve these types of issues and we all gotta find the best way to deal with it for our personal selves, which is the hardest part.

it's hard to imagine what's going on through ye's head right now but I think we should all just try to empathize with what he's had to gone through in the past (post pablo breakdown/hospitalization) and hope that he doesn't get to that point again and hope he finds away to get control of himself in a positive way.

    positive vibes yall

People think if you have any mental illness that you are gonna go crazy (even with treatment)

That’s not always the case bro

People who enable Kanye’s manic behavior unintentionally create a stigma around mental health as well, I feel. Suggesting that Kanye has bipolar disorder and isn’t well gets attacked with “Stop calling him crazy!” or “He’s speaking the truth, let him be him.” You can be mentally ill and still be a genius and still be a real person.... you’re not crazy. Saying that someone has mental health issues isn’t discrediting them as people or their feelings. Admitting he has issues isn’t invalidating his accomplishments or the truth of some of his statements. By getting upset when you say someone needs help, you play into this stigma that being mentally ill is some kind of metaphorical death sentence. I don’t think it’s disrespectful to say that Kanye is mentally ill, and has been for a long time. It just is what it is.

This is spoken from someone who has bipolar disorder and have always felt a connection to Kanye, especially the negative qualities tbh. When he came out and said he had it, it validated a lot of struggles and feelings I had about myself. It’s been heartbreaking to hear him backtrack and discredit it all now.
