correct, the proletariat would have to preserve the state (military and authority is what much of the state is) as it competes with competing ideologies that have their own states (capitalist, monarchist, fascist). This is not out of reverence or appreciation for the state, but because not defending the workers’ state would lead to coups or invasions or whatever

It would have to take either some sort of actually genuine mediation (which is doubtful in itself) or an effectively worldwide hegemony of the workers’ state for the motion of state abolishment to be an effective path to take in regards to preserving socialism and beginning communism

it’s probably my biggest qualm with left wing thought as a whole because it means adopting rigidity and long term goals, two things humanity hasn’t collectively pursued in millennia, if ever

China is a real world example of the proletariat controlling the state in a way, with the state also exerting economic power in our financially centric world. There’s other issues w the existence of China that have to do with this specific topic but this post is already long

ofc! If you want to turn people over, you have to meet eye to eye and understand humanist issues in our modern day. Simple terms, simple outcomes, short term goals for now.

Once you get a big number of people to “get” what happens, then we can work towards the goals

Academic marxists think everyone’s gonna immediately get what they get but it’s just not how it works.

Marxism and communism is founded on the ideology of a man who had no idea the extent/limit of acquisition and long term control of material for production, let alone the extent of the “means for production”;

It’s a pseudo intellectual talking point for children and college students in a narcissistic internet age.

Edit: TLDR:
Learn how money works, and accept the disorganization that has created imbalance for thousands of years realizing any other option is dictatorship taking away the little free will we have left.

well in the lower stages the dictatorship of the proletariat is established, the state begins to wither away immediately. once all class distinctions have gone to the wayside, there is no more state
