Yeah but the album was basically promoted like something to hold us off till the off season. It's the equivalent to when wayne dropped sht to hold us off till a carter. I'm not gonna downplay bagg's success that much but he did have a smash hit pre-album and his album was marketed more for streams + he is a rapper for the streaming generation while Cole's fanbase is pretty much 25 and up

do you really believe if cole album was 30 songs it would do double the sales it did?
for example for drakes scorpion overall like 80% of streams are from 7 songs
you're phrasing it as if all the other songs he included were insignificant

i mean cole dropped 3 songs prior to album (one of them being on the album) - were they hits? no
were they supposed to be hits? probably not
but both artists dropped projects they wanted to drop - and the numbers show MBY's project is being listened to more
as for Wayne, IANAHB, IANAHB 2, Funeral etc - I hate when Wayne fans say "oh its not a Carter so the sales dont count" lmao. Funeral was mid and forgettable thats why it did what it did
