I’m not a fan of voice narration in films. Especially when it’s through out the entire film.

Scorsese prolly one the only directors to do it right.

Wasn’t expecting JDW to play a thug lol figured they’d have him be a cop or lawyer

Kelvin Harrison Jr.'s character seems so close to his role in Waves. I'll still check this out off the strength of the cast alone.

Movie was cool, the actually story is definitely interesting but the film suffered from having the wrong person direct it.

The voice narration was pointless and they could of tightened up the non-linear structure better and removed a lot of filler.

A decent size yes. He’s directly tied into the case

Bigger role than “Dope” for sure

And has a bigger role than John David Washington and Nas

I’d argue Rocky is the 5th main character? After Kelvin, his parents and the lawyer

S*** put me to sleep. Made it to the 45 minute mark until I dropped it. Everybody was good acting wise, but I couldn't care less about the outcome of the story.

Yeah I watched for about 20 mins and was turned off heavy by the way they were telling the story and the narration. Totally took me out of it

Yeah bro I don’t get why directors don’t drop the voice narration s***. Usually it doesn’t serve any purpose and is pointless, especially when they narrating the entire film lmao

Partly. I would have preferred a more linear structure, but everything was just so tedious to watch and we've seen stories like this before. Pretty sure I'm not missing much.

Didn't they have like 3 different narrations going?

Swear they had the court narration
    then flashbacks of what happen
then also flashbacks of him and ol'girl (i think)

I just remember them showing a flashback of him getting arrested and then the next scene was him chilling with ol'girl and it got kinda messy

I think if they did a linear structure of the events prior to him landing in jail, with flash forwards of him in court mixed in would of worked (Kinda like Social Network).....and then take away the voice narration...Don't people hate when directors try and showcase their knowledge of films?
