Been playing world and im 40 hours in (im in HR and i have the urgent mission of hunting Nergigante) and i must say, that this is the greatest Monster Hunter game of all time (havent played Rise tho)

Such a great game and a step in the right direction for MH. 4U will always be my favorite but i have to admit that world is on another level. The details, the graphics, the inmersion...

I think a World 2 with some things from the games off the past (better weapon design, more monsters, more straighforward...) would be the perfect mh for me tbh

The only thing not as good is the graphics. Every other mechanic has been expanded on.

Rise is cool but loses a lot of why people like the older games

• There’s no preparation
• The combat is stupid fast
• wire bugging is stupid OP
• barely any challenge
• multiplayer is wayyyy too chaotic with 4 players and 4 palimutes and it hurts my brain

It’s a great game but it’s straying too far from the core of MH in my opinion

Only thing Rise does better than World or any other game is combat & addition of palamutes.

Every thing else is same or worst to me.

Prep, difficulty, level design, additional content, time to kill & hub are all worst imo. Read page 1 to see why most people find it disappointing. Not to mention all the half ass n unfinished content Rise had in the beginning & still to some degree still has, which hopefully Sunbreak fixes. Also one of the worst endgames/postgames in a base title.

Rise is still good tho & one of the best beginner friendly titles. I been stopped playing outside an Apex quest here n there tho which is not normal for me, n waiting for Sunbreak to bring me back in. MHGU is way better imo n what i bounced too.

But yeah, the next title after Rise is the proper mainline title & will probably be "World 2".

Yeah idk how Rise can be seen as the best if you played a lot of the older ones. Literally the only imo "objective" thing it does better is the combat & the addition of Palamutes is a great wuality of life feature i hope stays. But prep, level design, the half assed content, time to kill, postgame & difficulty are all worst than at least base World. Rise not only loses some core identity of MH but it also has straight up missing features & mechanics lol, & wirebugs are basically Hunter Arts 2.0 from MHGU.

Page 1 is where I and a few other talked in depth of cons of Rise & hopefully it dorsnt start a slippery slope.

To each their own tho, but World n MHGU are the best imo. Played them all except 4U because f*** 3ds controls and screens for a MH title lol.

World, MHGU & 3U are my personal favs. Hope "World 2" brings back underwater combat but way more improved so we can get some of the locked gen 3 mons back like Ceadeus along with new ones.

How Elden Ring handles open world bosses gave me hope & confidence that a true openworld Monster Hunter can def work.

Could be really interesting & awesome. Really excited to see what the next core title is. Its been confirmed to be worked on already too.

I want more open areas or an open world(s) and/or improved version of underwater combat. Also keep the Palamutes.

When Sunbreaks come ill play Rise but damn, reading the thread sounds like it was more a continuation of 4U/GU than World, and thats fine but maybe they changed up too many things

btw, saw in ur post below that u havent played 4U and if u dont like playing in 3ds, u can try emulating it with Citra, there you can play with a controller and even enhance the graphics lol, i played GU that way and feels very natural, had 0 problems.

Imo, 4U its the best ''old'' monster hunter experience, even better than GU tbh. Generations Ultimate has more monsters (honestly, thats a big reason to prefer it) and hunter styles but 4U feels a lot more focused and well made, also helps that its is own "game" and not a mash up of older zones and monsters. The story is also nice for a MH

4u and gu are better than world imo

MH4u its actually my favorite one but idk if its because i played that like 7 years ago when it came out that World got me thinking its the greatest

I still have to start the Iceborne/G-rank part, but i liked a lot the inmersion and graphics World has, actually made the difference for me

The whole experience of 4u was the s*** join turn room play with randoms for hours lmfao good times

Yeah it was fun af hoping on random rooms, except when u had to do the Gogmazios and Dalamadur mission, niggas didnt know how to evade

4U one of the most groundbreaking MH games .
