So I just saw this and I had an awesome time. Movie felt like them trying to say “sorry people didn’t like the last one.” But it’s a fun time at the movies.

cgi blood still looks terrible

They should have had people donate real blood after getting tested

Had a blast with this

Loved some of the homages to the game, especially some you’ll notice only in IMAX apparently. Switching out Cole Young for Kitana and Johnny Cage was a smart choice. This is what the first one should’ve been.

the recipe to success is to have Karl Urban be in your movie. he was so much fun and was a much better protagonist than Cole from the first movie. this was much more of what a Mortal Kombat movie should be. action-packed, gory, and quite hilarious at times. my only main gripe was that Baraka was heavily underutilized. he needs to be a main stay in the eventual third film.

hated some of my favorite characters sindel and quan chi in this. also wish they would use more of the characters fighting styles and not just their specials/fatalities. like sindel does so much more than just scream! and quan chi is a lil b**** in this movie who doesnt even fight. would love to see a proper air juggle or kombo

also raiden did one move the entire movie (at least it was a good move tho), and shang tsung was wasted in this movie.. sonya blade is even worse in this movie than the first.

johhny cage was pretty much perfect tho. wasted opportunity to s*** on noob saibot but they didnt even name him that. he was just lame af bi han!

was that ermac looking down on the throne room when they first went to get the amulet?

I thought that was Ermac! Since that's a tease he's definitely going to be in the third one
