you didnt watch the video hey
their issue is that fantano and all these dudes today rush to judgment way too fast. you often gotta sit with music a minute and let it cook which of course doesn't line up with getting clicks. if you actually listen to them speak here i don't see how you can say they're wrong. people in a race to call records trash on twitter at 12:01am Friday is bad for music imo
also fantano in particular gets things wrong CONSTANTLY and it hurts his credibility honesty. he deserves to get called out for this
You're right I didn't. Ok that I can agree with. People do need to take more time with albums before putting out reviews but for what I can gather, fantano seems to take his time. It be days sometimes a week or two before a album review come out.
But it may just depend on how big the album is idk.
I’m convinced people don’t get the album or where rap is going
Mos was on his navy blue s***

anyone defending or saying they have respect for cactano itt should never have their opinions on music be taken seriously
A critic should not affect how you feel about your own music in any way whatsoever. If it does you’re in the wrong industry
I love mos def.
But I really wish niggas stop just acknowledging these critics they hate so much.

Tf did Kweli do???
he’s been a known ass for years, super rude to his own fans and constantly seeking confrontations online
Didn’t watch but I still rock with mos def. And the Freddie Gibbs collab is still dope to this day
Niggas can't handle opinions and criticism. That's weak. Sensitive egos. You put stuff out to the public you're opening it up to criticism. If that bothers you don't put out any form of art.
Niggas are allowed to have different opinions. It's rare for me to agree with Fantano but I still respect him.
Atleast he actually talks about the music while these b**** ass Pitchfork writers just write smug ass, psuedo intellectual think pieces about the artist instead of talking about the music.
You'd think someone as seasoned as mos def wouldn't be bother by this type of stuff.
Every artist is sensitive about his/her craft. As rich as hov is , I know he still watches interviews about what people think of him. They act like they don’t care but they always peep a lil sum.
I feel where you’re coming from but I can’t fault an artist for defending their work. No matter how seasoned. You clap, expect a clap back. Whether the critic deserves the attention or not is up to the artist. Now if mos def was crying every year about some s***, then hell yeah he has to let it slide but every once in a while I’m not mad at him
Fr the best way to handle the Fantano (and critic) problem is to ignore them
It’s that simple. Stop posting his videos, whether he rates your favorite artist high or not, just f***ing stop. Same for other reviewers. Just stop
The noise will still keep going because of Fantano and his army of viewers and listeners. Not because Mos spoke out.
I'm all for artists protecting their narratives around their art and the craft of rap.
Critics don't get it.
I love mos def.
But I really wish niggas stop just acknowledging these critics they hate so much.
He isnt going to stop existing when Rappers stop mentioning him. Fantano is a mainstay critic for hip hop so IDK why people are under the impression that you are lowering yourself by responding.

Why is criticism affecting you bad?
Should you want critique in order to make you better as an artist/person?

Black Star album came and went sadly.
this fam, I tried giving it another spin but s*** wasn't it
Cant believe melon is rattling all these artists lol , they are just giving him more ammo for his brand
Fantano really gave that new roc x alc a 6/10 though...
Tbh it wasn’t outstanding, it was just solid
EDIT: Also, the fact that a white man lives in Niggas minds like this is disappointing

That joint was a 8 or 9 out of 10 for me.
But I respect your opinion.
